We all already have ID, doofus.
It's the new form of ID that is oppressive and very very suspect.

This law will provide IDs to illegals since it is a federal program. Its a Progressive two-fer. They will be able to restrict their political enemies and at the same time enable their illegal fellow travelers.

TSA to Arrest Anyone Charged with any Crime trying to Come or Leave – including taxes

http://armstrongeconomics.com/2015/02/06/tsa-to-arrest-anyone-charged-with-any-crime-trying-to-come-or-leave-including-taxes/

Katko’s bill will direct the TSA Office of Inspection Accountability Act (H.R. 719), requiring TSA to now conduct criminal Investigators spending at least 50% of their time“investigating, apprehending, or detaining individuals suspected of committing a crime.” This bill will now result in the arrest of anyone for any alleged crime whatsoever and that will apply to taxes. Katko is constructing a highly dangerous version of the Berlin Wall around all American citizens.

Every European country has an internal passport - to be shown to police on demand.

In America, the drivers license has served that function.

I think they are changing what ID you can use. I have a valid Drivers License but this will no longer be valid I guess. I do not have a passport so I would have to purchase one at the cost of about 100.00 dollars or so.

I’m sure a chip implanted on the back of your hand will suffice, so that you don’t have to carry a passport with you.

Illegals to be exempted I’m sure. AND all the money gotten from the new federal papers will go to help children and minorities.

None of this would have been plausible or potentially considered a good idea by anyone had the borders been kept secure, and immigration controlled as it was supposed to be.

Fascists have their foot in the door and you don’t care. We’ve gotten along without national ID cards for our entire history, including during the darkest days of WWII, and there is absolutely no legitimate need to require them now.

“Despite the wild rhetoric of this blog post, having an ID is simply necessary in today’s world. There is nothing radical or unconstitutional about it. Suggesting that people should be allowed on airline flights without an ID is ridiculous.”

It is one thing to require a valid ID for air travel. It's an entirely other matter to have that be a “national” ID with the ability to track your movements around the country. The only issue with air travel is to identify yourself for the purposes of boarding a flight, nothing else! Everywhere I turn, various governmental agencies are wanting to track my movements for a variety of reasons. Now the FasTrak folks tell us that they want to track us “so they can improve the way traffic moves!” Yeah right. I mean where does it end before you have absolutely no privacy? RFID is an insidious technology that's going to destroy our individual freedom!

Why is it ridiculous to allow people on an airplane without an ID?

I do not have a passport so I would have to purchase one..

Pay the few extra bucks and get the PP Card, as well. You can just carry it in your wallet and it's good for travel to/from Mexico, Canada and maybe some of the nearby Caribbean islands.

IMHO.
