It’s got nothing to do with Democrats. McD quite simply has not kept up with the times. America eats better food now, we’re no longer willing to accept that crappy food is the price of speed. McD used to be among the best fastfood burgers without actually being good, now they’re among the worst fastfood burgers without having decreased in quality. The field has changed.
Agreed. Not all, but a certain percentage of former McD customers would rather have a fresh salsa than the HFCS dyed glop the call ketchup, a freshly prepared sandwich or plate, a pure meat hamburger, whole grains. Fries without the skins are no longer a food product.
Also, except for their dollar menu, McD's is expensive. Two people can share a Chipolte meal, a you-pick-two at Panera, or a DiBella's sub, and have more food and healthier food for less money.
I can’t prove it, but McD’s fries, burgers and shakes tasted better (to me as a kid, anyways) back in the 60’s.
The quality has declined a bit though. No beef tallow for the fries anymore is a big drop in quality. Also, there was the whole “pink slime” incident, and even though they don’t use that anymore, the meat quality in their burgers still seems very poor.
They are screwing up their bread. It sucks.
They also changed the oil for their fries and serve less fatty hamburgers.
McDonalds, go back to what works.
