Juan Williams: Labrador spoiling for fight on immigration

What is the Republican strategy in starting a fight the party is sure to lose over funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)? Does the GOP even have one?

“Nobody really has a strategy yet, I’m sorry to say,” Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said last week.

Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) counters that there is indeed a strategy.

If the president vetoes a DHS funding bill in order to protect his executive actions on immigration, Labrador plans to shout across the land that Obama values five million illegal immigrants more than keeping the American people safe from terrorists.

“He is putting the safety and security of our nation at risk so he can grant five million undocumented people benefits in the United States,” Labrador said over dinner last week. “I think if we sell that case to the American people, the American people will revolt.” The Puerto Rican-born Labrador is uniquely positioned in the debate. He once made his living as a lawyer helping immigrants — some here illegally — win legal status. He came to the mainland as a child. His single mother cleaned hotel rooms. No one can argue that he has a hard heart set against the immigrant experience.

But now he represents a 90 percent white, heavily Republican district. And his constituents, he says, want him to end ObamaCare and stop the president’s immigration plan.

So how is forcing one losing vote after another in the Senate going to pay off for the GOP?

Just because Republicans were overwhelmingly elected to stop the Obama/Democrat agenda, it’s the Republicans spoiling for a fight? IOW, he plans to shout the truth. The media is going to have a tough time hanging the racist label on him since Labrador is Hispanic.

However, I don't know where the enemedia came up with five million since we've long been told the official figure is 11 million and, in reality, is probably at least double that.

Look, we're going to get this immigration issue taken care of with permanent open borders and more foreign tech workers coming in. We need to reduce labor costs and if corporations can't off shore cheaper labor costs then we're going to have to help reduce those cost for the Chamber of Commerce here in this country. We're also keeping Obama care in place to off load heath care cost from corporations to the tax payer. We've already told the conservative members of Congress that it's time to get with the program or we'll cut off funding and primary you out the door. You voters need to just need to keep sending in your checks and show up and vote “R” every November. We've got everything handled so relax, the right people are in charge.

My first thought was Labrador Retriever.

Speaking of which, I saw a very funny Subaru commercial over the weekend. Yellow lab is sitting at a stop light behind the wheel of his Subaru(yes the dog is driving the car). A French Poodle strolls through the crosswalk in front of his car. He watches intently. The camera view widens to show his fellow yellow lab(bitch) sitting in the passenger seat and growling at him. In between them you can just barely see a cut little yellow lab puppy sitting in a car seat in the back seat. Very funny

I was proudly one of the voters who booted the traitor Cantor before he could betray us with the amnesty that was planned for this past summer. Dumping Cantor threw a huge monkey wrench into the plans of the Uniparty.

The plan has been to import the workers for the jobs that can’t be exported since W. decreased border and interior enforcement AFTER 9/11. That was unforgivable in my opinion, but I didn’t realize he was plotting against us until he said “See you at the signing” when they tried to pass amnesty in 2006. The proper approach should be something like HR 4473 that passed in Dec. 2005 and started the demonstrations by the illegal aliens. It was an enforcement bill written by Sensenbrenner of WI.
Until we see that there is the will to enforce something/anything on illegal aliens we need to stand strong against it or lose our country.
