".... Lisa Wagner, Romney's 2012 Midwest fundraising director, said that once voters meet Bush, "they see his head and his heart are connected" and they are "very, very taken" with his "sincerity."
During a question-and-answer session after the Detroit speech, Bush said losing his first bid for Florida governor in 1994 taught him that winning campaigns requires building an emotional attachment with voters. When he won the job four years later, he said, he campaigned in placesfrom black churches to public schools in poor communitieswhere few expected a Republican to go for votes.
That, Bush said, allowed him to "to connect on a human level with people, and offer ideas that are important to people, so that when they think of me they think I'm on their side and that I care about them....You've got to care for people before you get their vote.
"That experience on a national scale has got to be part of a strategy," he said.
Democrats say that's a hollow argument and they point to Bush's record as governor, which included the eventual elimination of the state's tax on financial assets. Democrats argue that primarily helped the wealthy.
They also are eager to note how Bush, after leaving office, served on an advisory board for Lehman Brothers, a financial firm that collapsed in 2008 during the recession. Winning the WH in 2016 will require telling it like it is and bringing out Americans who will vote for a leader who will fight for them and this country.
Is the GOP going to compare Obama to Obama — or Obama to the Democrats - or Hillary to Obama - or Hillary to Bill...either way it’s a losing comparison for the DemoRats!
With instant videos and news tear lines dominating the Internet - there is no need for the current news services to tell us what is relevant - we can find out on our own and see this elitist for what they are!
No....just legalize 10s of millions of illegal aliens. His wife’s people.
Bush may well be sincere. A sincere fool is still a fool. A sincere corporativest is still a corporativist.Sincere has to have a noun with it to mean anything useful.
While they also make comparisons to obama lincoln and reagen. Jeb is thier friend
Sometimes the truth hurts.
Of course the comparison is wrong. Romney should be compared to either Obama, Gingrich or Marshall Tito since all believe(d) in centralized State control to solve perceived “problems”.
Jeb should be compared to Nixon or Quisling.
DEMS doing the job, RINO’s just won’t do...
If they want him out, compare him to OBAMA.
The Dems can concentrate on JEB so we can sneak in the Cruz/Walker ticket.
This is not a compliment, to the discerning reader. "Sincerity" is a minor virtue at best and may be a sign that you don't want his guy making crucial decisions, when his "heart" might cloud his judgment.
Indeed, it is not.
