Jordan says it has carried out 56 air strikes in three days on Islamic State logistics sites and hideouts.
"We achieved what we aimed at," Air Force chief Gen Mansour al-Jbour said.
Jordan intensified its strikes after captured pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh was shown being burned alive by the IS.
Jordan has carried out nearly 20% of all sorties by the US-led coalition against IS in Syria so far, Gen Jbour said, adding: "We are determined to wipe them from the face of the Earth."
IS seized control of large areas of Iraq and Syria last year, prompting hundreds of raids by coalition war planes.
The focus of Jordan's air strikes is reported to be Raqqa, the IS stronghold in Syria, but no specifics were given.
Gen Jbour said the strikes had degraded nearly 20% of the militants' capabilities.

He has to be told what the targets are. They probably send him a list...and tell him to choose a, b, c, d, or all of the above.
Then the golf caddy delivers it to the Pentagon and hurries back to the course.
War 101
I wonder how much BO is seething underneath his false veneer over Jordan getting serious about getting rid of all of BO’s buddies in IS.
I wonder if the US will put pressure on Jordan to ease off.
The last thing we need to do is send our troops in. Obama would abandon them like in Afghanistan. It took months for him to commit the troops needed when the generals said they were needed.
By committing our troops we are in effect abandoning them and wasting their lives. Obama will just pull out without finishing the job. Besides ISIS is a deterrent to Iran.
We need to cut off all weapon sales to muslems everywhere period. Let them use up their weapons fighting each other. When they have depleted themselves we go in and finish them for good.
I hope they used napalm.
a) Weakens America/AmericansThere are NO counter examples.
b) Distances America's allies
c) Strengthens America's enemies
d) Serves Islam
e) Harms Israel
Or some combination of the above.
It's Obama's new strategy....called "Strategic Pause"....announced a couple of days ago.
Bingo! If our satellites can see you working in your garden well enough to identify you, and they can, then isn’t it obvious?
Strategic patience?
Have the Generals ever turned against the CIC in mass and won?
...Gen Jbour said, adding: “We are determined to wipe them from the face of the Earth.”
(((
May my God be with you for that errand, General.
Gives a whole new meaning to "POST TOASTIES!!!" (Ick!)(shudder)(barf!)
Where is BOBTHENAILER when we need him. Has anybody seen him post lately? I pinged him to a thread about fracking in NM for natural gas a few weeks ago, but I think it was a wasted ping!
Yeah, but this time its FORCED AIR!!!
I think his “problem” is waging war on his own. One dude said he can do anything he wants...but that’s not so.
Reading that straight, it appears rather nasty. Were you trying to get a laugh? However, this is what was reported when US re-involved itself with the war in Iraq.
He has to be told what the targets are. They probably send him a list...and tell him to choose a, b, c, d, or all of the above.
Which is not contradictory to enabling Obama to go slow, ask for specifics about targets, and avoid the "mass and surprise" that the military often goes for. After having fired almost 200 top generals and admirals over the last few years, Obama can say 'only c' or 'none of the above' and noone in the chain of command will raise a question.
In any event, it looks like Obama was throwing the game until the Islamic State ISIS made a pagan human sacrifice a few days ago. The King of Jordan has put his foot down so we will see what sort of temper tantrum Obama comes up with.
Maybe Abdullah and Jordan are the “ones we’ve been waiting for.” Sure isn’t anyone in the US White House, sorry to say.
WWI ended in an armistice. That was just about a twenty year pause before WW2.
That was also a dem pres — Woodrow Wilson. Dems believe in using troops as cannon fodder and not winning.
