The GOPe of the UNIPARTY doing what has to be done to keep its power.

UniParty bump.
As with GOPe leftists - wake up today a repub, wake up tomorrow a 'Rat.
Same way it goes every few years in S.C. too. It’s a plague.
Open primaries are the reason we have senators like the two from Tennessee and that one from SC.
Corker, Alexander and Haslam along with the rest of the GOPe have to be able to exercise the “Mississipi Option” to stop Tea Party Conservatives in primaries......
Why should we allow Democrats, who it seems will have no real primary battle this time around, pick the candidate they want to run against?
Closed primaries means conservatives win. The establishment cant allow that.
In comparison with an open Republican primary, Louisianas jungle primary system is starting to make sense. At least in the jungle primary, Democrats have to at least place second with their own candidate, so their ability to game the system by voting for a Republican spoiler is limited.
That was a mistake!
“Supporters of closed primaries say crossover voting can unduly influence the outcome of nomination contests.”
Yes, we can’t allow that, we must have a “counter” to the Conservative wave
And the fraud keeps on a-rollin’...
of course they do
If there is so much worry about “crossover votes”, then allow only one candidate from any one party on the ballot.
1) Let the parties (through Conventions, Caucuses, etc.) select their candidate.
2) Any and all candidates for any office should be required to file (with affiliation, if any) for the primary to be eligible to be on the (run-off) election ballot.
3) Any candidate receiving more than 50% of the primary vote is elected. If no-one receives this simple majority, then the top two vote getters or the top 50% (in whole numbers, rounded up) of the field participate in a run-off. Repeat this selection process until a majority vote is attained.
4) During this election process, no candidate is allowed to change affiliation from that originally filed.
If this process was followed, then my taxes would not be used to winnow the Dem., or Rep. candidates (much less the Greens, Commies, Independent Party, Libertarian, Tea Party, or whatever). The election would more truly reflect the desires of the voters. IMHO, Bill Clinton was elected by Ross Perot (due to the protest vote against GHWB because Bush was so far ahead of that unknown from Ark.). And, I realize, this might result in two Dems or two Repubs or whatever being on the final ballot. If that’s a worry, then run a stronger candidate.
At present, I am a “Non-Affiliated” voter and, as such, am locked out of the primaries and am not allowed to vote for any of the primary candidates but am presented 10-12 candidates (for a single office) in the November election (a field which should have been cut down in the primary), and often includes candidates who lost in the primary and changed affiliation or office from President to Senate (for example) to get on the (Nov.) ballot.
The current system only insures that those currently in power stay in power.
Looking forward to (constructive) criticisms.

What is the rationale for an open primary?
Why would anybody be for it?
More crappy governors and U.S. Senators for years to come Yippie. Tennessee GOP General Assembly you were elected to a majority status to FIX what was broken by years of abuses under DEM control. Are you becoming as the RINO’s in DC also?
Is their a list of the panel
I bet I know at least two of them
You purists need to shut up and sit down while we put up our wonderful liberal candidates.
