Then tell that to those hotel, restaurant and store owners in places like NC’s Outer Banks who have to look abroad for young people from places like Poland, Russia, Ukraine, etc., because they can’t lure nearly enough Americans to work and spend a summer at the beach.
US citizens would gladly take those jobs if it weren’t so financially advantageous to not work. Another great source of labor would be steering HS grads without all that much aptitude for college toward the job market instead of student loans they’ll never be able to pay off.
