Nearly 507,000 women and girls in the United States could be at risk of female genital excision, including 57,000 in California, a new study has found.
That is more than twice the number that were thought to be at risk in 2000, the last year for which estimates are available.
Analysts at the Population Reference Bureau, a nonprofit research organization in Washington, attributed the preliminary findings released Friday to an increase in immigration from countries where the practice is common, including Egypt, Ethiopia and Somalia.
It is unclear how many families continue the practice after moving to the U.S., but community activists say there is anecdotal evidence of girls being sent back to their parents’ home countries for “vacation cutting” and of traditional cutters traveling to the U.S. to circumcise girls in this country.

This nonsense existed before Islam so it’s not entirely religious-—more just tribal krap. But the fix for it will come as the westernized guys that the parents want to pass these dead fish off to will begin to reject them for wives that resemble a log a little less. This is not 'true'. Women are not even allowed into Muslim 'heaven'.
Since the Muslim belief is that they will be 'entertained' by 100 virgins (72 female, 28 male) , one wonders where these females came from. Maybe only female and male virgins who die by suicide bombing get into heaven. Either that or they have a sex change clinic up in heaven and 72 of every 100 virgin boys are turned into girls.
Or (more likely) it's all baloney but no one mentions it because they like to keep their head on their shoulders.
Excuse me for being ignorant, but I do not understand what this procedure is? Is it similar to circumcision in males?
It’s to gruesome to describe in polite company so maybe, in the privacy of your own home without ladies or young children present you could use the internet to research FGM or female genital mutilation.
oh and you should refrain from eating for several hours before or have something to barf in handy so you don’t make a mess of your keyboard.
