WASHINGTON President Obama presented a budget on Monday that is more utopian vision than pragmatic blueprint. It proposes a politically improbable reshaping of the tax code and generous new social spending initiatives that would shift resources from the wealthy to the middle class.
Absent from the plan is any pretense of trying to address the main drivers of the long-term debt Social Security and Medicare a quest that has long divided both parties and ultimately proved impossible. The document instead indicates that Mr. Obama, after years of being hemmed in on his fiscal priorities because of politics and balance sheets, feels newly free to outline an ambitious set of goals that will set the terms of a debate between Democrats and Republicans and shape the 2016 presidential election.
~~snip~~
Badly losing the midterm elections has led them to get outside of a pretty narrow box they were trapped in, and theyre thinking far more broadly and creatively about ways in which policy can help reconnect economic growth and middle-class prosperity, Mr. Bernstein said. Theyre framing a debate with bigger fish in mind than an annual budget. Theyre thinking pretty energetically about what ought to be done, versus what can be done.
The result is that Republicans have dismissed Mr. Obamas budget as dead on arrival, branding it as a tired retread of the job-killing, big-spending policies that he and his party have long favored.

Nothing has changed — he is a Marxist. What did anyone expect other than this classical stuff ???
Spreading the misery would be a better description.
Obama’s plan for spreading the wealth [of other people]
Unfettered Case for Plundering the Wealth
Fixed it.
Republicans would like to raise everyone up to become successful.
Democrats would like to see everyone at the lowest common denominator.
Only in the imagination of the New York Slimes.
Six years of Obamanomics has decimated the Middle Class and transferred more of their wealth into the hands of BO's billionaire cronies.
Let’s start with NYT hack Thomas Friedman and his billionaire wife.
Silly me, I thought spreading wealth was something people do every day voluntarily! I didn’t realize we need to be told where to spend our money.
You can NOT use Karl Marx’s ideas to help the middle class.
You can NOT do it.
Karl Marx HATED the middle class. He wanted them DEAD. He wanted their blood FLOWING in the streets.
The Communist and Marxist acolyte Saul Alinsky taught that to destroy the middle class, first you had to make the middle class think you were one of them.
His ideas are working.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Involuntarily “spreading” someone else’s wealth is simply theft.
This is an example of “Walkering” the left - it needs to be pointed out that it is THEFT to “spread” someone else’s wealth.
Yep, its the old parable of the grasshopper and the ant. The grasshopper has veto power. The ants work hard and want to store the fruits of their labor. The grasshopper wants to take the fruits of the ant’s labor and will leave no stone unturned to take from the ants through supposedly legalized theft and barely legal executive order appropriation.
The solution is to do nothing and watch grasshopper and all his locust plague starve, or the ants must use a little insecticide.
Right now the ants must starve Mr. Grasshopper, and watch him wriggle , whoop and hollar. If we are lucky , he will just keel over.
