The U.S. Army has deleted a tweet that used the term chinks in armor after people freaked out that the same word can be used in a completely different context as a racial slur against people of Chinese descent.
Chinks in special ops digital and physical armor poses challenges, experts say, the tweet read, followed by a link to a news release about how terrorists using social media has left a hole dare I say, a chink in our countrys defenses.

What pussies. We’ll, at least they didn’t use the word niggardly too.
I just saw a dictionary of non-racist, non-sexist, non-homophobe, non-jihadiphobe words.
It had one entry:
THE.
How else can you keep the latrines spic and span?
Active Duty ping.
This might be the only intelligent thing I’ve heard from that show. Except that I read it.
“I’m thinkin’ they need to stop using ugly racist terms such as slope...”
Oh no, so if I hit the slopes at Camelback next weekend...
I’m sure Cracker Barrel is safe cuz crazy assed Crackas cant be offended.
IF they had used the term “Cracks in the Armor” would NOW & all the Liberal women being yelling???
LOL! I don’t care who ya are. That there is funny.
By way of a little extra news, Canada has sent about 70 special force soldiers to help the Iraqis with knowledge and knowhow with tactics etc.
It so happened that while the Canadians were pinpointing targets with technical devices, they were fired on by Isis. They fired back.
The cries of protest came from the opposition. They accused the Prime Minister of falsely saying Canadian troops are not "boots on the ground, but advisers. Prime Minister Harper stated that Canadian troops are instructing allies. He said "If they (Isis) fire on us - we will kill them.
Yup! You’re gonna be in trouble for unwarranted attacks on the “slopes”. Has anybody taken all the ski areas worldwide to task for such ugly racism used in their adverts?
This article makes me feel jipped.
Oh jeez, more PC. They can’t say chinks as an adjective. They can’t refer to Muslims when discussing terrorism. I even bet the word “niggardly” is banned when discussing habits of thrift.
I get people complaining about the word in the tweet since people are f’in stupid. But the Army deleting it? There’s a PAO with zero balls right there.
In Harry Turtledove's novel fantasy THE TOXIC SPELL DUMP, CIA agents really are "spooks." Even if you're not a regular reader of fantasy, I think you might enjoy this book. It's full of delightful puns.
At the time the Constitution was written, government money given to the poor was termed "poor relief." It was termed "welfare" only after the New Deal tried to use the "General Welfare" clause in the Preamble to the Constitution to justify poor relief.
It wasn't only the Nazis that changed the language to further some political goal.
