Genesis 14:21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.
Just as the price of gas is reaching levels Americans can both go to the grocery store and fill their cars in the same week, our Glorious Premier Obozo decides to close the remainder of the ANWAR desert to oil exploration. This oil reserve holds more than thirty years of energy for America and would further stabilize the price of gas, but Marxists like him hate cheap oil so he is closing this production by edict. Alaskans want to develop and harvest this vast reserve, however the Federal gummit thinks they know best for the state from half a world away so the Alaskans have no say. This is the problem with the Feds owning nearly 60% of a state's resources.
It is time to divest the Federal gummit from the western states and let them manage and maintain their own resources. There is very little difference between the old Soviet Union and America when it comes to central planning and ownership of the resources. Not only is there no difference than Moscow controlling the Siberian forests and railroads, it is not even as efficient. Alaska should be able to manage their resources as there is no justification for them not to and if there is 30 years of American usage then it would allow America to either become self sufficient or allow Alaska to sell to the Asian market. There is no reason logistically or environmentally these reserves nobody even travels to should not be properly managed.
The only reason Premier Obozo is closing this vital resource, like the rest of his Party he hates capitalism and America. He is a hardcore Marxist who only wants the worst for the American capitalistic machine. As he watches the gas prices slip below two dollars he sees his worst nightmare coming true. He knows cheap plentiful energy is the lifeblood of free market capitalism which is why he has spent the past six years doing everything he could to raise those prices in both gas and electricity. This has been his 1917 Russian Revolution being fought from the District of Corruption.
Just like the Global Warming, junk scientists promoted their Peak Oil theory. This was another consensus science which said there was only a very limited amount of oil around the world which would be depleted by the year 2020. These scientists who also were Marxists wrote their predictions on the information they had even though in the US most of the Federal and much of the state lands had been off limits to not only drilling but exploration. Imagine laws which say you cant even look to see if you have a vital resource, but we have them. Add to that they were using arcane drilling and exploration methods which only located the largest pools of oil in the world. They were plugging incomplete data into their computer models and coming up with their consensus science that we would run out of oil in 2020. This was going to be a crisis of apocalyptic proportions just like Global Warming.
A funny thing happened on the way to the end of the oil, we found more. The world began finding oil in Russia, Nigeria, Brazil and the Dakotas turning their model into a puddle of goo. Academia refused to back off of their predictions until the last couple years and now politicians are backfilling with laws and regulations stopping as much production as they can to keep the prices artificially high. This is primarily being done at the Federal level and the Glorious Premiers latest decree is another reduction in the supply to further hurt the American middle class which is what he is primarily about.
Every state should have full control of their resources. If they want to develop them that is their business and if they want to let it go to waste it is likewise their choice. We should have fifty mini-countries running and managing their resources at the source rather than a half a world away. The western states should be managed the same way the rest of the country handles their land. Alaska is so large it is hard enough to manage from Fairbanks and impossible to imagine running it from DC effectively. The ANWAR reserve is a frozen desert the size of South Carolina that is sitting on an ocean of oil. What gives the Federal Government the right to say the people of Alaska cannot develop and create quality jobs by punching some holes in that frozen tundra. This could be the equivalent of an American Saudi Arabia minus the Islamic terrorists, but thanks to DC Alaskans have to scratch out a living catching crab on the Bering Sea. They really never traded up when they were sold by Moscow.
With todays technology there is nearly zero chance of having a spill and even if there was as we saw in the Gulf of Mexico the lasting damage is negligible. The year following the spill they had the highest catch of fish in healthier sizes than they had in ten years, so much for consensus science. Alaska is the wealthiest state in the union with huge amounts of natural resources and if the Feds would get out of the way there is a bonanza waiting to happen. Rather than sending their Federal royalties to DC and then DC deciding how much to send back, Alaska should be able to keep their taxes in the first place and hire their own land managers.
Along with drilling and exploration technology, the monitoring and reporting advancements give local jurisdictions real time oversight. This can make more efficient production and planning to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. This will make for a clean and productive development and stewardship of these lands lending to better conservation and development. Alaska is being held back by the President and his political agenda as punishment for being a great country. These resources should be turned over to the state and managed in a more effective and proper method which would help the Alaskan people who should be the stewards of these lands.
We have a President who is at war with oil and has outlawed drilling off the Alaskan coast in the Arctic Ocean where the Russians are now punching wells and now he wants to eliminate drilling in the only small area in ANWAR it is allowed. There are no environmental reasons just like the Keystone pipeline or the Gulf of Mexico, only a President who happens to hate the free market system. He should stick to starting race riots which is his expertise. They were wrong about the Alaskan pipeline decades ago and the science is wrong about the damage to ANWAR just as they were wrong about Peak Oil. The turning over of resources to the states would be an economic revival for those states and that expansion would spread to the rest of the country raising all the boats. It is time to free Alaska from a centrally planned government and let Alaskans decide what Alaskans want.
Pray America is waking
Enough braying.
ANILCA contains a no more clause which stated no more than 5000 acres can be declared wilderness in the state without Congressional approval. The coastal plain of ANWR is 1.5million acres. The USFWS has claimed the 10-02 does not fall under the clause because by inclusion in ANWR it already takes the land out of public domain and thus is not applicable to ANILCA. The State claims the wording and intent of the law are plain and simple, no new wilderness. ANILCA states the coastal plain must be held in a state ready to be included as wilderness land should Congress decide not to allow exploration. Given the 15 successful votes by Congress in favor of development it should be clear the view is decidedly against wilderness designation.
The USFWS CCP decision on wilderness also violates the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in that any study or declaration of wilderness must consider all alternative land uses. The CCP deliberately leaves out oil and gas exploration as a potential land use which is ironic considering the definition of the Coastal Plain under ANILCA is an area set aside for the study of oil and gas exploration potential. The State has maintained this study was a breach of NEPA since it was first proposed in 2010.

The great lakes directional drilling ban is another. Even the EPA says there is virtually no danger posed to the lakes as long as the drilling rigs are set back 1000 feet from the shore and all safety procedures are followed.
It should be up to the states bordering the lakes but every democrat in the country gets a “no” vote on it. Meanwhile Canada drills under the lakes all they want with no problem.
This is just the Marxist war on America and nothing else.
Our state has witnessed a decrease in gas purchased for cars. This is the result of people switching to electric cars due to the high cost of gasoline. Since our state charges 37.5 cents per gallon sales tax, when combined with the Federal tax, it costs about 50 cents per gallon in taxes. Now with the reduced use of gas, there is a frantic struggle by the tax pigs on how to make up the loss of revenue. It is ironic how much government is dependent on oil.
The reduction in gas usage has more to do with the slowdown and better MPG than electric cars. Now those hypocrite politicians are wanting to tax usage rather than gas. They want to GPS our cars and make everyone pay the same per mile.
You are correct. The sales of new cars giving higher gas mileage is booming in our state. Our state ranks in the top with more than three out of every 1,000 registered vehicles now battery powered. When I tried to get our state’s statistics on new-auto sales by year, I had no luck. It got my curiosity up so much, I am going to call our state’s Motor Vehicles Department. It seems as if this statistic is being swept under the rug because there could be a huge revenue from motor vehicle sales tax that could make up for the revenue lost by increased gas taxes.
I am going to report to my State Representatives what I find.
