The newly GOP-controlled US Senate has approved the Keystone XL Pipeline in a 62-36 vote, with three Democrats joining all 53 Republicans.
However, the issue is far from over.
Now the White House will be in an embroiled battle with the US Congress, as the Senate and House versions of the Keystone legislation must still be synchronized.
The White House and liberal Democrats have been fighting the Keystone Pipeline for years now. Notable Democrats opposed to the energy project are Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
Boxer told the AP that passing the Keystone Pipeline was a disgrace.
This bill is a disgrace, said Sen. Barbara Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate environment committee. We tried on our side to make this a better bill and they turned us away.
Reid and Boxer both received campaign cash from former Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), who desperately tried to get Democrats on board with the project, but ultimately failed.
President Obama is likely to veto the pipeline project and this could be worrisome for Republicans, as they do not right now have the votes to override a veto.
Warren Buffet.
Casey is a big liberal, except when it comes to votes that will get him tossed out of office by PA voters.
Just like Manchin of WV, Casey is in coal country and in the middle of the fracking boom with it's natural gas pipelines being installed in PA as I write this. If either one of them votes against Keystone XL, they'll be thrown out on their ear just like Landrieu.
It is a disgrace that the elected executive and family of a republic prance around in monarchical grandeur fit for hereditary kings.
This is the first bill of substance passed by both the house and senate and not a peep from the cover up boys at the network news.
Those dumb bastards wonder why they continue to lose audience, and yet refuse to cover any story that might make obummer look bad.
They’re free to vote for it now because it’s known that Obama will veto it. If any of those 9 were the 67th vote needed to override the veto, you can be sure they would vote with their master.
So basically those 9 Democrats deserve no credit. They need to be asked pointblank on the public record that if their vote meant the difference in overriding Obama’s veto, would they still vote for it.
Hmmmm....
I'm surprised ... looks like we scared the crap out of him back in November.
As usual the Dems/Socialists/Idiot in New England voted for higher gas prices. Nice going New England...
It must be going no where.
She has done nothing except lap dances for 0bama since he came pres.
Barbara Barfer is a disgrace.
Now let’s see if Princess Barry will veto it.
Hmmmm....
So, six "Republicans" voted against it. Why would that be surprising?
Oops, ignore my comment. Too early for simple math.
“casey ????!!!!!?????!!!!!”
Deep hibernation
It should be worrisome to Obama if the GOP would go on every TV show in America to make certain all citizens know he vetoed it and 20,000 jobs.
