According to the Washington Post, Mitt Romneys primary residence is in Utah, and he has recently registered to vote there.
HOLLADAY, Utah After losing two straight presidential races, Mitt Romney packed up his home in Massachusetts and journeyed west to Utah, building a mansion here in the foothills of the Wasatch Range that has served as his sanctuary from defeat.
Here in the Salt Lake Valley, first settled by his Mormon ancestors, residents look past Romneys electoral shortcomings and revere him as a savior for rescuing the 2002 Olympics. Romney won his highest 2012 vote margin in Utah 73 percent to President Obamas 25 percent. This is also where Romney has been pondering a potential third campaign, calling out to friends and past supporters and praying with his wife, Ann.
He feels very at home here, said John Miller, a close friend in Utah who has been talking with Romney throughout his recent deliberations. This is a very prayerful thing. .?.?. In the end, its really a decision between he and Ann and their belief system, their God. Thats the authentic Mitt.
There is always the possibility that all this talk about running for President is but a feint, and his real goal is running against Mike Lee in 2016 for the Senate. It is something to consider...

So, of course, he would want to use such obvious support as his campaign base.
Well, I want y'all to look forward to a time when the Mormon 'White Horse Prophesy' may play out -- when "Mormonism will rule every nation"...when Mormons become our "religious...and political" saviors!
(Now, those aren't my words chosen...they are Lds leaders who have spoken upon the political realm)
Joseph F. Smith:
Who was he? Sixth president of the LDS Church, wrote in Gospel Doctrine, p. 403--originally cited, I believe in 10/1912 Conference Report, p. 11:
Now, these are the commandments of God, the principles contained in these commandments of the great Eternal are the principles that underly the Constitution of our country, and all just laws. Joseph Smith, the prophet, was inspired to affirm and ratify this truth, and he further predicted that the time would come, when the Constitution of our country would hang as it were by a thread, and that the Latter-day Saints, above all other people in the world, would come to the rescue of that great and glorious palladium of our liberty.
The 'White Horse Prophesy' by LDS so-called "prophet" Joseph Smith:
We shall build the Zion of the Lord in peace untill the servants of that Lord shall begin to lay the foundation of a great and high watch Tower and then shall they begin to say within themselves, what need hath my Lord of this tower seeing this is a time of peace &c. Then the Enemy shall come as a thief in the night and scatter the servants abroad. When the seed of these 12 Olive trees are scattered abroad they will wake up the Nations of the whole Earth. Even this Nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground and when the constitution is upon the brink of ruin this people will be the Staff up[on] which the Nation shall lean and they shall bear the constitution away from the very verge of destruction. (The Historians Corner, BYU Studies, Vol. 19, No. 3, p. 391-392)
* Two comments by LDS general authorities (one by a "prophet" and another by an "apostle" are especially interesting for their religious-political overtones):
* John Taylor was with Joseph Smith when he died -- surviving a wound -- and went on to become an LDS "prophet":
The Almighty has established this kingdom with order and laws and every thing pertaining thereto
[so] that when the nations shall be convulsed, we may stand forth as saviours
and finally redeem a ruined world, not only in a religious but in a political point of view. (Journal of Discourses, vol. 9, p. 342, April 13, 1862)
* LDS "apostle" Orson Hyde:
What the world calls Mormonism will rule every nation...God has decreed it, and his own right arm will accomplish it. This will make the heathen rage. (Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 53
To the headline: yea duh!
In before claims of RINO and Mormonic hate!
All your opering base are belong to us.
Brigham for great justice!
I always laugh at the faux-King James mormon language, and am amazed how anyone believed in it, either in the 1800’s and now.
I guess the imitation King James English was supposed to make the book look ‘authentic’ to the early 19th century audience. Somehow the Egyptian on Joseph Smith’s golden plates didn’t translate into the English of 1820 and instead affected a style that Shakespeare would have recognized.
The stench of Massachusetts probably won’t wear off.
The way I read it, it sounded like Jews who would save the constitution.
Olive trees are Mid-East thing, and 12 of them spread around the world? Sounds like the 12 tribes of Israel in their diaspora.
Mitt in Senate—why not—we could do (and have) a lot worse serving now.
Mitt in the Senate, fro Utah, would replace Mike Lee.
We...don't...want...that.
yeah, the Sunni-Shia disagreements are nothing compared to this!
Beat me to it LOL...Mormon hating fanatics can begin in 3 2 1.....
Serious side of this is we may lose Mike Lee.
Mitt Romney is truly a RINO despite your defense of him.
Imposing gay marriage AND RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE AND
ruining the economy of Massachusetts is
NOT conservative.
“Mitt Romney is truly a RINO despite your defense of him.”
You seem to be addressing the wrong person. I’m as anti-RINO as you can get.
