Longview police have released a video of an officer-involved shooting in which a teenager was killed. Longview Police Department Chief Don Dingler addressed the incident during a conference Wednesday before the department aired the video.

Oooh, oooh! Pick me! Pick me! So, you're saying that Officer Incompetent would have had her cuffed, THEN he would have discovered and removed the knife!
And then she would have lived, and gotten help, instead of being killed?
Careful, dragnet2 - too many facts are going to confuse some people posting on this thread.
Wait for their head to explode.
What is that he’s throwing down, bacon? I have no idea but it’s oddly hypnotic. To the left, to the right , to the left, to the front, skip skip skip, boom.
It's okay, you can be butthurt all day long.
Notepad with his shopping list on it.
Of course there is only one item on the list.
COLD CUTS!
Of course not. His big time screw up is why he shot her to death. The officer allowed this to happen.
That is why they are supposed to be trained, for the safety of all.....And why the young lady is now dead.
In fact, he apparently already thought or knew she had a weapon...
How could an officer not cuff and search a suspect when he had every opportunity to do so??
??
Are we supposed to rely on mental cases and suspects to follow common sense procedures?
In this instance, it's dragnet2 spiking chris' ultra-lame argument in the endzone for the SCORE!!!

OH NOES! MOAR facts!!!
The officer allowed this to happen ended her life threatening charge by shooting her.
I had to fix those.
In fact, he apparently already thought or knew she had a weapon...
Tell me, do you think that it is at all possible that he chose to wait for back up before attempting to cuff her, because he suspected that she had a weapon but was not able to find it?
Is it at all possible that he thought he might be safer waiting for assistance in executing a dangerous arrest?
Also, is there some problem in waiting for the investigation to complete in this matter?
If he cannot give some satisfactory explanation as to why he didn't secure her, I imagine he is going to be facing some problems, though murder or manslaughter isn't going to be one of them, because as you stated...of course not, his not cuffing her did not give her the right to try and kill him, nor did it mean that he forfeited his right to self defense.
Sorry, chris - dragnet p0wn3d you.
As Yoda would say: "You go in flames down."
Use the whole tube.
Carefull now, dragnet - this is where chris starts putting words in your mouth, and looking to invent something, and claim that you said it.
The tube was empty. You needed it after all your base are belonged to dragnet2.
MULTIPLE opportunities, AND he was lying on her back while she was pinned on her face. AND he outweighed her by a hundred pounds.
As you wrote earlier: Once a suspect is cuffed, the next basic procedure is to search the suspect. This is for the protection of the officer AND the suspect...Again, really basic stuff.
Fascinating. LOL! :)
it’s funny watching you stand behind someone else who is also losing thinking that you are both winning.
Actually, it’s just a jpg LOL! :)
I’m still happy that you agreed with me that the shooting was justified. It was great watching you have that moment of clarity.
Here it is again, let’s savor it together:

The other two officers involved did nothing wrong at all IMO.
See! We agree on something, after all!
Mmmmmm.
See? chris is working himself up to declare himself "victor".
Even though you're pounding him into the ropes with all those nattering facts, you're "losing".
It's not about an honest discussion of the facts or the case. It's 4chan Rules.
Savor that part, chris dear. LOL! :)
I never said he did anything criminally wrong, you did.
And I further never agreed that he did a great many things wrong, I simply stated that i would have expected he would have cuffed her, but since I don’t have all the necessary information to make that assessment at this time, I’m not going to.
You also said that we agree that the other two officers did nothing wrong, and seeing as how they were involved in the shooting, then the shooting was not wrong, otherwise they would have, in fact, by participating in the shooting done something wrong, which you agreed that they didn’t.
Chump.
Anyway, your inability to think straight or even at all is annoying as ****, so have a nice life again.
