Ok, whatever. Just a no simple confidence vote in parliament. Nevermind Right Sector in ski masks. (shaking head)
It all happened under immediate violence, as in right outside the building door. And as for no confidence nationally, how did you arrive at this count?
Obama could put 5 million people in DC next week if he really needed to.
On TV it would look like the whole nation was in agreement. That’s why elections are held.
Also, you might want to check, the president of Ukraine serves a 5 year term. It is not a parliamentary system like Netanyahu faces right now, or where elections are called upon a no confidence vote.
And the irony is, the Kiev coup that has unleashed a war was unneeded. had they simply organized and waited, the election would be happening now in 2015.
The fact that they decided do go with a street attack tells me that they know they were not really a majority.
The president could have played hard-ball with his military, but opted not to. And why did he opt not to? Because he didn’t have support for it.
I agree that the opposition didn’t have the majority, but the fact still remains the president’s party did not remain behind him.
Failing this, he was toast and he resigned.
That is not a coup. His party failed to support him, and he resigned.
No group mounted a military operation that couldn’t have been put down.
It wasn’t a coup.
Tell me, was Nixon’s resignation also a coup?
Thank gawd someone gets it... these Ukrainian rebels brought on this civil war because they, a minority, wanted Ukraine to be aligned with the unemployed latte-sipping intelligentsia of the European continent.
