I took the flu shot once.
Got very sick that year and the next, IIRC.
Haven’t bothered with it since.
Washing my hands, including fingertips, and staying away from people who have just sneezed, using a paper towel to turn the doorknob of public restrooms, and other paranoid habits seem to have worked a lot better than the vaccine.

I stopped getting flu shots immediately upon retiring from the USAF over 11 years ago...never felt better. I get the occasional sinus infection, but don’t get sick anymore like I used to.
Tired of being a pin cushion guinea pig for “big pharma” and Uncle.
Took my kid in and there was no messing around, prednizone, z pack and inhaler. Very aggressive. Thank God my kid made it. This poor little thing could probably barely breathe. God rest her and be with the family.
I’m angry all military personnel are REQUIRED to have a flu shot every year, sometimes two.
Most vaccines, such as those for MMR, tetanus, diphtheria, polio, HIB, and even varicella, are very effective and provide a strongly positive health benefit in relation to the risks.
Seasonal influenza vaccines, not so much...

If you have ever read anything about the Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918, you will remember to get a flu shot every year.

WELL ... it doesn’t do much good NOT taking the flu shot either. I haven’t taken one (ever) and I still get the flu anyway. This year it just about killed me ... And three different times during the course of this flu. I was about to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital. It’s been 3-1/2 weeks and I’m still not over it (although getting gradually better now). I think next year I’ll get my first ever flu shot ... :-) ...
The CDC just got done admitting last week that more than 3/4ths of the people who take the shot this year are going to get the flu anyway

Well they did say that this years flu shot is only 36 percent protection. So it doesn’t surprise me that some may not be protected like other years. I get the shot every year but I bet many won’t bother next year after hearing what happened this year.
