Hmm...I'm all for bashing Europe over the Holocaust but Sir Ben (as he insists bell hops refer to him) isn't exactly Santayana.

1945?

They were grieving their own dead.

He is right in one case, behind the Iron Curtain, the Holocaust was explained away as Anti-Fascist opponents of Hitler were the ones killed, and that Jews weren’t necessarily singled out. Only when the Wall came down, did those behind the Iron Curtain began hearing the full truth.

Seems the point has been bypassed for smart ass answers and attempted cute quips.

Europe has a problem. Kingsley is at least addressing it without blaming the Jews, and we can’t seem to get anyone who thinks that’s significant enough to address on it’s merits. Yikes!

Anotherwords, the guy is dead on target on three issues.

He says Europe has a problem.
He may be on to a reason why.
He hasn’t blamed the Jews.

I don’t give a fig about his title or the idiots who think that trumps his rational addressing of anti-Semtism in Europe, and trying to figure out why it exists so it can be eradicated.

When I get back from D. U., I’d like to see how they address this on FreeRepublic.

They grieved for years during the war. There wasn’t much to do after the war but to get on with life.

I think European socialists were able to control the narrative that the Holocaust was a "right wing NAZI" phenomenon.

If European children were taught the truth, that Socialism (leftists), particularly National Socialists caused the Holocaust, they might have grieved at some point. But the new Islamicized Europe is boldly moving towards a Holocaust again...but this time it may be Jews and Christians!

He is right. They haven’t faced what happened, and they haven’t faced their own countries’ role in it. After all, it wasn’t just the Germans. French police rounded up French jews, Belgian police rounded up Belgian jews, Hungarian police rounded up Hungarian jews. And so on.

And in part because as he says they haven’t grieved, and they haven’t faced their own national culpability, they do not understand the genesis of modern Israel, and they miss the connection between Islam and Nazism.

“It never happened, and if you don’t shut up, it will happen again!”

Yep, that's what they say, all right.

Even so, secular morals/ethics will never get the job done. The heart of hatred of the Jews is hatred of HaShem, yet in none of the commemorations of the Holocaust (or other official poo-pooing of anti-Semitism) is G-d ever mentioned. Instead a totalitarian religious relativism is declared the only solution and the fact that some non-Jews actually believe their own religions are objectively true is implicitly made the root of all evil.

The association of the Jews with militant secularism (with Jewish observance carefully exempted in the name of "multiculturalism") is only going to make anti-Semitism worse.
