I have my friends and family members trained not to call between 11 and 2 lest I have to miss Rush. But last week I had phone calls with customer service representatives from Comcast and Verizon plus an issue with the main sewer line which required the city's Utility Department to come and dig up part of my yard. Since I have no control over these CSRs or the city's Utilities Department, Murphy's lousy law always seems to kick in when I have to deal with these kinds of situations causing me to miss a lot of Rush's show.
When all of these extraneous activities were over, I was finally able to get back to my Rush routine. Unfortunately, what I got to hear once I was able to listen uninterrupted (Thursday, I think) was TWO HOURS of the oh-so-important "deflate-gate" news story. I don't even know what came on in the 3rd hour because I was too PO'd to listen. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME! The next day he stayed on the subject for almost as long. I finally turned him off. Anyone who knows me IRL can tell you this is totally not me. They know that the 11 to 2 time slot is nearly sacred in my day. Up until Obama's economy devastated me, I was a Rush 24-7 member. Now I have much less discretionary cash, so I had to let my membership expire until which time I can renew it without having to worry about letting go of that $. I say all that to make the point that I LOVE RUSH!
However, and this is where the back-bencher part enters the equation... For those of you who listen to Mark Levin, you know how he always refers to the back-benchers when talk radio hosts don't hit the hard topics head on. I can only guess at who he's talking about when he says that since I never hear him mention names, but when I listened to Mark's very informative and passionate podcast from January 23, I was taken aback by the contrast between the amount of information I gleaned from his program vs. the amount I gleaned from Rush's. Could it be that Rush is a back-bencher?
While I don’t disagree with anything you’ve written, I do agree with the comments suggesting that this is not the day to deconstruct Rush. However, I would be inclined to participate in the conversation you started if you were to re-post it next week.
Rush is Rush but his staff really helped to make his show. No doubt “HR” was instrumental in that development.
Ask me that after the rule changes for next season come out.
“However, he DOES have a point about how the left is trying to destroy what is a uniquely American Game by claiming its sexist, dangerous, too violent, or not nearly as fun as soccer.”
You forgot racist.
No doubt, it’s NBA 2.0 at this point.
Here in Indy, the colts have lost 2 more to felonies in the last week
Biggirl, I know Rush and his staff have suffered a terrible loss, and my heart breaks for them. However, I'm fairly sure Rush isn't reading my post here on FR and wouldn't be affected one way or the other even if he did. He's a big boy.
Re the listeners in the path of the blizzard, I have wracked my brain and can't remember the world ceasing to rotate on its axis when we took a horrible hit from Hurricane Ike in 2008. Nor would I ask them to.
All that being said, perhaps you can tell me when you determine is the proper time for me to make this post.
Prayers to all in the path of the blizzard.
Oh, I DID. Didn’t I!
I stand corrected. :-)
I’m not complaining that he’s covering football stuff. It’s the inordinate amount of time he’s devoting to it. I can’t be too surprised, though, because he does say that he talks about the things that interest him from Monday through Thursday. What does bother me is that he makes fun of those of us he calls the “stick-to-the-issues crowd” when we weigh in with our displeasure. I just wish I knew in advance when he was going to do boring material so I could plan my time better.
There are so many reasons for the Left to hate America and American sports, that it is easy forget one or two. No problem. :)
One time I heard Mark Levin asked about Rush he had nothing but admiration and said something to the effect that Rush was the role model that got him interested in radio.
“Rush said H.R. (Kit Carson) passed away this morning...been sick for a while.”

I had Rush’s show on in the background as I worked so might not have this 100% straight...but I believe I heard Rush say that his wife Kathryn had been up where HR was hospitalized for the past week or so. Somebody who was listening intently may be able to clarify this.
Prayers up for FR’s family and friends/associates.
Well, that would make sense. As I was typing my post I realized that he may have named the people he believes are back-benchers at some point. I don’t get to listen to him that much because he’s on at 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in our market.
I usually listen to him when I take my dogs to the park, but I don’t get to hear the entire 3 hours. I’m not even sure what time he comes on, but how I wish he would take the time slot of the exceeeeeeedingly boooooooooooring Michael Berry, a local host in Houston/Southeast Texas area.
True. He is a font of wisdom + experience + knowledge.
Given by your comments and the links you posted, it's more likely you're either Mark's program director or his WEBMASTER.......
And for what it's worth, it is Super Bowl week and Rush is a football fan..........
There's 50 more weeks in the year to talk politics..........
That was my belief. I knew they were good friends and that they wrote blurbs for one another’s books and seemed to have mutual respect. With that in mind, though, is Levin giving Rush a pass that he doesn’t extend to others? In the clip I referenced in my OP, Levin made it a point to say he wasn’t going to be wasting time on deflated footballs, and this was immediately after Rush spent a torturous amount of time on it for TWO DAYS. The timing seemed interesting to me.
Hahahahahaha!! I should make that much $$$. Would love to do it, but only if I could do it from Texas since I don’t plan on leaving.
I'm also guessing that Rush is looking into an animated Rush Revere movie.
Rush loves his football, golf & jets. ...so we always get his take on current events involving those topics or stories.
...I can live with that.
The time to criticize Rush was last week which we all in the Limbaugh thread did but giving the loss of his friend today cut him some slack.
I like football, so it doesn’t bother me when Rush goes on about it, but I can see how it would bug people who don’t care for it.
I don’t think Rush is a backbencher by any means...Levin used to use that term for Beck, before they made up, or whatever.
But I couldn’t believe it today when I heard Rush say someone had been “coronated” (not a word) instead of “crowned”. I thought, well, I guess the dumbing down of America is complete.
