Speaker John Boehner is showing mercy to his foes but that doesnt mean hes ready to forgive and forget.
The Ohio Republican so far has chosen not to exact revenge against most of the roughly two dozen Tea Party Republicans who tried to overthrow him earlier this month.

Working with committee chairmen, Boehner could cut off their ability to travel abroad on congressional trips. His loyalists could also skip defectors when it comes to deciding who gets to sponsor legislation moving in the House.
The Speaker can also turn off the spigot of donations that flow from his large network of political contributors, depriving the dissidents of campaign cash.
People have got to understand whether you play sports or have a military background like me, if you work as a team, you can be successful. If you work as 247 individuals, youre going to be crushed, said Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a Boehner ally whos been urging the Speaker to take more aggressive action against the defectors.

Hes aware some of his opponents were under enormous pressure to abandon him, as hundreds, if not thousands, of phone calls and emails poured into congressional offices from Tea Party activists seeking the Speakers head.
And he knows full well that the grassroots activists applying the pressure were further enraged when he took quick revenge by booting two defectors Florida GOP Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent from the powerful Rules Committee.
Theres concern among party leaders that any further retribution could provoke conservatives, and cause more headaches for Boehner and his allies at the very moment they are trying to show they can govern in Washington.

Kinzinger replaced the most conservative Republican in the IL delegation (Manzullo), carpetbagging to do so after redistricting. He played friendly with the Tea Party supporters in Illinois, and said all the right things. Manzullo was no Tea Partier, but was among the best Illinois had, certainly among the established elected officials. Kinzinger reoresents much of what is wrong with IL politics.
Don’t think we will ever forget.
Screw you, Boner, and ALL WHO VOTED FOR YOU. Traitors all.
I’m changing my registration just as soon as the weather improves a bit.
> “The Ohio Republican so far has chosen not to exact revenge against most of the roughly two dozen Tea Party Republicans who tried to ***overthrow*** him earlier this month.”
OVERTHROW HIM? What kind of language is that? Ohm this is coming from ‘The Hill’, a notorious Beltway clique of moderate chatters sometimes posing as conservative.
Overthrow eh? Isn’t that word reserved for dictators, despots, autocrats, etc.?
How about ‘voted for someone else’?
The events regarding the election of the Speaker are illustrative of the fact the system works.
If the elected Speaker becomes vindictive, the system is not working
The Speaker that abuses power will accomplish nothing
That is also true of a President and the current President , a slow learner , is about to find that out
No thought of getting revenge on the lame duck president who made Boehner look like the buffoon he is over the past four years.
So that Democrats can unseat them...BRILLIANT!
The Bohners of the world WANT us to change our registration, as that gives us no standing to challenge, and in many states, even vote against in the primary. The hippies and commies didn’t leave the Dem party even though they had no use for the southerners and the anti-commie union types. They took over the party, and chased out their enemies and drew in new allies (suburban bimbos from hell, perverts).
Well at least they’re admitting they’re scared of us! Too bad the phone calls didn’t work and get Boehner out!
Hence my tagline.
Looks like Boehner views conservative Republicans as “the enemy”, not communist demonicrats.
+1
Tar and Feathers.
Boner needs to be Cantored.
“Boner needs to be Cantored.”
Speaker’s are term-limited to six years (thanks to Gingrich) so he’ll likely announce his retirement before the end of this congress.
The Establishment is pissed that we took out Eric Cantor, their hand-picked successor.
Only Boehner gets the credit for making Boehner look like a buffoon.
At any time, Boehner had the option of looking like a leader who gave a d@mn about America and Conservative Principles. His failure to do so is either a measure of his complicity with the Executive Branch, or the depth with which he fears the dirt they have on him being dumped onto television screens and other media venues.
Either he sold us (conservatives) out or deceived enough to think that by virtue of the 'R' after his name he would somehow defend conservative positions.
If you do "punish" representatives, you will simply confirm to tens of millions of Americans that you don't know your job, that you think the House is about you, just as Obama thinks everything is about him, that you are just a no-good careerist out to feather your nest and those of your pals and that you are unfit for office.
Confirm this or start doing your job as the voters gave you your instructions: Stop Obama.
Your poll numbers are already sinking in comparison to Obama for your weak and ineffective actions in the mere weeks after the election. GOP supporters are tuning out due to your betrayal and backstabbing in funding Obama's unconstiutional actions (in your OWN words). They see no hope in 2 more years of the Weeper of the House. Prove us wrong, find a backbone, follow the principles you say you hold, but never actually implement. Go on as a man of principle or sink into the muck of the swamp of an untold number of failed politicians.
It's your choice, Johnny.
