NOPD arrests 10 armed robbery suspects over weekend

The New Orleans Police Department on Monday (Jan. 19) touted the arrests of 10 armed robbery suspects in two days, describing it as a demonstration of the NOPD's commitment to tracking down those "responsible for committing violent crime, taking them off the streets and bringing them to justice."

"The arrests made this weekend show how hard our officers are working every day to keep our neighborhoods safe," NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said in a statement.

The tally began Friday when three high school classmates were arrested, accused of robbing a man in the Central Business District on Jan. 9 and fleeing on a public bus. The trio -- ages 14, 15 and 16 -- were found after police released surveillance footage that showed the three boarding that bus

There have been some protests in the French Quarter recently. But the protest were not for the Michael Browns and Trayvon Martins of the world. The protests were against them.

And because they are so young, they will get a slap on the wrist and be back out on the streets committing crimes before you know it.

on the street within Hours or Days. Then we'll talk about fixing the problem.

Arresting them does not fix the problem when they have multiple arrests
for similar crimes, or crimes leading up to armed robbery.

It’s not the NOPD. It’s the judicial system. The police just arrest them. Many readers bring this up in the comment section at the article.

The judicial system will not tell us about the revolving door, the police can
and know it very well. Their voice will be heard, not any Judge or Government Attorney.

Somewhere I have a photocopy of an obituary from the New Orleans Times-Picayune, early 1990s, of a guy whose children all had car names. Fiero, Tercel, etc.
