Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, reiterated his pitch on Sunday that if Republicans nominate a moderate candidate to be their presidential nominee in 2016, they’ll lose the White House to the Democrats again.
He called GOP candidates like 2012 nominee Mitt Romney, Sen. John McCain, the party’s 2008 nominee and 1996 nominee and former Sen. Bob Dole “good, honorable, and decent men” — but not what the GOP needs in 2016.
If we nominate a candidate in that mold, the same people who stayed home in 2008 and 2012 will stay home in 2016

Cruz has not completed his first term in the Senate. I would prefer that he do that and then run for a second term.
Texas can replace Ted with a conservative, but we cant find a guy with his character in the GOP field for President.
Cruz is right, and if he runs he will get a lot of support... except from the RNC. They will work triple overtime to destroy him in an effort to get Jeb in office.
The RNC is the enemy.
You are living in a time and place that no longer exists and are willfully oblivious to what has transpired.
The past election ought to have woken up the GOP sheeple to the brutal fact that there is only ONE national party, and that Conservatives are openly declared an enemy of party and state.
If you want to delude yourself into thinking you can change D.C. at the voting booth, you are welcome to practice your insanity, many of us however, will no longer be joining you in that fruitless exercise. We are done with Olive Branch Petitions. We are preparing for the next inevitable phase.
You cannot corral the corrupt via a system they have corrupted.
You cannot constrain the lawless with more laws they already consider themselves above and will ignore or declare null and void.
You cannot stop tyranny via civil means.
The south is solid conservatives and they ain’t Rinos.
There are lots of GOP Govs and as proof of them not being in lock step with the DC group of weenies, there are at least 25 states challenging Obama’s amnesty.
Reality is the guys in DC could lose some power to the states if they ignore them. Many of these states are totally run by Republicans.
Wait and see if the base revolts.
Money talks - everything else walks.
Even in the South, which is where I live.
Solid Conservatives have already ‘revolted’ and are no longer supporting the GOP with money or our votes. The rest have Battered Wife Syndrome, are party hacks or will vote for whomever punches their meal ticket.
Whether or not the vast majority of GOP party members revolt, is yet to be seen, but from my recent experiences in my own state - I am not holding my breath.
People vote for whom gives them money robbed from other people. Americans by and large want Santa Claus for a government. That was the major reason so many “Republicans” voted for the Ruling Class Oligarchy to be reseated.
We are arrived at the place we must refuse our consent to be governed by this current dictatorship and oligarchy in power, because our votes no longer matter.
Only money matters, because that is what buys the “votes”, notwithstanding whom ‘counts’ the votes and declares “winners”.

That would be ideal but these are less than ideal times and I don’t believe we can afford to keep the best we have, possibly the best we’ve ever had, on the bench. I believe Governor Walker has indicated he will not run in 2016, it’s time for Conservatives to unify behind Senator Cruz.
I doubt the RNC will promote Senator Cruz or any candidate acceptable to Conservatives, it’s time to get behind Senator and push the issue and shut out the faux conservative candidates.
Remember when Alan Keyes was arrested and handcuffs for trying to attend a debate.
Keyes out debated all comers.
If they were, they would have won.

I don't think America has the luxury to wait. The uniparty is taking marching orders from the agenda 21 gang, and the unholy police state mechanism is already in place, but it's not so entrenched that a Cruz Presidency couldn't dismantle some of it.
It would be great if he would announce he’s running at CPAC.
I think that's a fair assessment of Gov Walker. He's obviously a great manager and executive, but that's not enough to be elected to the presidency. A person also has to be able to connect with voters in a way that inspires them to enthusiastically support their candidacy.
Walker just doesn't seem to have that. In fact, he's not reaching out to voters in ways that any potential candidate should be doing right now. From what I can see, the guy's invisible on the right-wing blogosphere and commentary sites. I see people talking about him, but I never see him talking to the broad public.
He'd better start doing some real outreach if he's got any intentions of being in this thing.
There's no way in heck she'll run, knowing that Ted Cruz is going to. She's too smart to split the conservative primary vote that way.
For what it's worth, I don't think she'd run (for multiple reasons), even if Ted wasn't. Gut instinct tells me that the two of them worked this out some time ago.
Yes, that’s a good point. I hadn’t thought about that, but I think you are right, she wouldn’t want to sour the race if it looks like a strong conservative has a shot.
Perhaps that explains why she stayed out in ‘12, out of deference to Bachmann or someone else. Still think that was a mistake though.
Was there - met Senator Cruz - he was the favorite at the SC Tea Party Convention by far. Walker also had good support, and did Carson.
...and new we’ve heard from establishment type conventional wisdom.......
