WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A heated exchanged between President Barack Obama and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-New Jersey) broke out Thursday over whether the U.S. should reimpose sanctions on Iran amid ongoing negotiations over the country's nuclear program, according to two senators who were in the room.
Menendez, the leading Democrat pushing for additional sanctions against Iran, forcefully pressed Obama on the need for additional sanctions during a meeting in which Obama urged Menendez and other senators to drop their efforts to pass sanctions legislation. Additional sanctions, Obama argued, could torpedo ongoing negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.
The unusually sharp exchange, between a senior senator and a president from his own party, occurred during a Senate Democratic retreat at a hotel in Baltimore. A senior administration official also confirmed details of the exchange, which was first reported by the New York Times.

Bit surprised Menendez took the lead on this issue. Obama has plenty on him relating to his little parties paid by “donors” with underage hookers to the Dominican Republic. Stay tuned.
Didn’t Menendez oppose Obola against the Cuba thing? Hmmmm.

The fact that the Obama Admin is in a near-panic over the prospect of these sanctions passing, suggest that they’re at least a start.
How long have these negotiations been going on now for? 15-20 years is my guess.
I googled it. Talks have been going on since 2003.
Article points out that Obama said he understood the pressure Senators were under from “donors” that led them to contemplate sanctions. Will any reporter press Obama to identify these “donors” he has in mind, who are supposedly manipulating the Senators, with regard to foreign policy on Iran?
Obama been reading up on The Protocols.
Obama has to watch his language because if he crosses a line there will be hell to pay.
The “Israel Lobby” puts its money in Democrat and Republican politicians from Menendez to Schumer to Feinstein to McCain and Graham.
This is an issue where a Republican majority plus Democrat defectors could hand Obama veto proof defeat.
Menendez escaped unscathed from his own little sex scandal — but let’s see what happens now.

WNBC-TV's relentless investigative reporter, Jonathan Dienst, is investigating Menendez's shady past and shady deals.
Dienst did the towering investigation of NJ Sen Robert Torricelli which forced the crook out of office. Dienst himself has said:
"....the investigation of Senator Torricelli’s alleged corruption was an extraordinary exercise in journalism; going out and spending about six months on that story working almost non-stop digging and digging, trying to find corroboration to allegations that the senator had an improper relationship with a convicted felon."

Cuban ex-pat Menendez bad-mouthed Obama on the Cuba deal---said it was in the works for a year but Obama told no one. Menendez is foolish to tangle w/ Obama---a word to Holder and Menendez is toast.
Another indication that Dumbocrats believe Obama led them over a cliff w/ the ill-fated Obamacare.
About 30 lock-stepping Democrats were tossed out at midterms---Dumbos lost the House and the Senate and all the perks and privileges that go w/ being in the majority.
Obama's got a disgruntled buncha Dumbos on his hands. He better be careful---the destructive vengeance Dumbos heaped upon Americans and America might now be refocused...... on Obama.
