While reporting the breaking news that the U.S. Supreme Court will decide on gay marriage, Fox News host Shepard Smith observed that the same states that fought racial integration oppose same-sex marriage.
To drive home his point, he added that among some Americans, there is still disagreement over segregation.
Not in every case, but in most cases, the same states which were fighting integration are fighting this as well, Smith said. Those states which always seem to be behind the curve for reasons which are explainable and understandable.
Is it because the inhabitants of these states are bitter, and cling to their guns and religion, or apathetic to people who arent like them?
Smith chose not to explain the reasons, leaving viewers to discern on their own whether he was talking about Southern states, Republican-led states or both.
The 14 states that ban same-sex marriage are: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota , Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas.
According to Smith, gay and lesbian couples are victims of discrimination in these states.
Those are the places where this is going to turn out to be the most difficult, especially if the Supreme Court stays with what has seemed to be a trend toward inclusion and away from discrimination, Smith continued.
Wall Street Journal editor John Bussey made an observation that theres still disagreement on this issue within the American population.
Theres still disagreement on segregation, Smith quickly asserted.

So?
What a pathetic attempt at tying the race card to the homosexuals!
Shep must be engaged.
So, in the spirit of full disclosure did Shep state that he is also a fudge packer?
That Roger Ailes has employed this man who can’t read but who does a great job with eye makeup makes one wonder what Smith knows.b
Shep wants to include the dictates of federal, unelected, and unconstitutional rulings by so-called judges among those states that supposedly "accept" a perversion of marriage.
For some reason, Shep has always shown a keen interest in homosexual issues.
The Road to Selma wasn’t supposed to lead to Sodom.
It would be hilarious if that bastard had to do a few years in a state prison. They would enjoy the hell out of him. Hell, he’d probably enjoy it too...
Yes, like states like Alaska, Nebraska, Utah, Kansas, Indiana & Idaho...
Agreed. So what!
He is wrong, dozens of states fought against homosexual marriage.
For which side of homosexual “marriage” would Al Gore Sr. march?
“According to Smith, gay and lesbian couples are victims of discrimination in these states.”
Don’t remember the last time I saw on a job application, straight or queer. The only reason gays are discriminated against, and this is in my own humble opinion is because they are drama queens who seek the attention. “Look a me, I’m a fag. I am going to wear leather underwear and a boa and parade around the streets like this kissing other men in front of your kids.”
Seriously? As always, it’s the unintended consequences of the left who think they are doing good and wind up doing more harm. I don’t ask anyone at work if they are straight. It’s really none of my business, so why go around saying it unless you are craving attention?
Two athletes came out of the closet this year, made a big scene and it got them nowhere. If they would have shut their mouths, not listened to some whackjob lefty praising their courage for coming out, they probably would be playing pro sports today. And no one on their team would have given two squats.
“the same states which were fighting integration are fighting this as well,
Well Shep, you mo, those states were democrat states back then, weren’t they?
It’s time for all those black Americans that everybody keeps telling us are “really conservative, family-value folks” to come out of the woodwork and say ENOUGH!
If I were a black American, I’d be screaming from the rooftops at the repugnant proposition that “my history” of slavery and subjugation somehow equates, and is somehow the same as, unnatural and perverse sexual encounters.
Has a rational thought ever entered that nerd's mind?
Integration was opposed by Southern DEMOCRATS and the South in those days was totally in the Democrat Party,
Shep is SO GAY, he;s UNWATCHABLE!!!
