...The new group, which does not yet have a name, is being de-facto led by former RSC Chairman Jim Jordan, although the formal leadership structure could change. It will also include Rep. Mick Mulvaney, who lost an election to become the chairman last year, disappointing many conservatives. The other founders are Reps. Justin Amash, Ron DeSantis, John Fleming, Scott Garrett, Raul Labrador, Mark Meadows, and Matt Salmon. Most but not all of those members are expected to renounce their RSC memberships, along with other members who will join the group. Many of the members will meet Tuesday evening with Sen. Ted Cruz to discuss their plans and other matters over pizza, though Cruz himself has not been involved in the formation of the new group...

How many of this new GOP group voted for Boehner as Speaker?
You plant that seed and watch it grow like a weed.
Labrador hasn’t had time to return a comment on the emails I sent urging him NOT to vote for boner....which he did although most of Idaho did not want him to. He had better start sucking up to big donators for his next election and hope there isn’t a conservative candidate on the ballot. That group should not allow any one on it that voted for boner.
Fight Back Against the Uniparty!
If Jebbie gets the nomination, the GOP is toast.
This is great news! This is the path back to the referendum that was handed to the GOP in the first place.
Finally some good news. A majority of Republicans did not want Boehner back as speaker. He’s a lame-duck speaker as he has no support of the people and these conservatives know it.
Lashing back at those that opposed him is only making Boehner look worse and inept. It’s good to see it backfiring on him and the republican establishment. Hopefully this new group will set the tone for conservative leadership for years to come.

They need to leave a few hidden in the RSC to be able to poach intel on what the Rinos are planning
YES! Form a hyper rigid caucus and stick to your guns. NOTHING passes the House without the orgs. approval. It's going to take about 60 members to make it bombproof. Genius. Honking my horn as if I am at a firework display's conclusion. Honk! Honk! Honk! Beep! Beep! Beep! SAVE AMERICA! It's worth it! And a Howard Dean for good measure- YYYEEEAAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Clever ol’ chap.
I guess Boehner isn't a great tactician. When you come at the king, you better not miss.

He did respond to mine, however I’ll likely support someone running against him. Here’s the response I received:
Mr. xxxx yyyyy

Dear Mr. yyyyy:
Thank you for contacting me about the Speaker of the House. After my vote, I issued the following statement regarding my vote for John Boehner to continue as Speaker in the 114th Congress:
Today, I made a difficult decision in voting for John Boehner for Speaker of the House. Many constituents from Idaho contacted me to let me know that I should not support him. I want them to know that I did not make this decision lightly. I share the view of the majority of my constituents who are deeply frustrated by the way the House has run the last four years.
I understand that many of my most loyal supporters are angry with my vote. I ask them to remember that for the last four years I have stood tall for the conservative cause. In December, I opposed the end of year spending bill by opposing both the rule and final passage. Last year I ran for Majority Leader of the House when no one else was willing to stand up against the establishment in Washington. And every time over the past four years that the Speaker ignored the views of the Republican majority and the voice of the American people, I opposed him.
In 2013, I led the effort to oust Speaker Boehner from his leadership post. At that time, we had sufficient votes to be successful, but at the last minute several members changed their votes to support Boehner.
This year was different even after 25 Republicans opposed the Speaker, we still needed 12 more votes. The votes were simply not there to defeat the Speaker. I think it is unwise to marginalize yourself when there is no chance of victory, which was the case today.
Before I cast my vote for Mr. Boehner, I spoke with him multiple times. He assured me that he wants to change the way the House is run. He cited my successful efforts last August in bringing conservatives together to pass two bills that would have secured the border and prevented Obamas illegal executive actions. He asked for my help moving the House in a more conservative direction and promised that this would be a model for how hell conduct himself as Speaker in the 114th Congress.
My vote for Mr. Boehner is not an endorsement of his past leadership. Just as I have done during my first two terms in office, I will continue to fight for the American people and hold our leadership accountable.
Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Also, you should know that if you, or someone you know, is having problems with a federal agency, you can visit my Constituent Services webpage for assistance.
Sincerely,
Raúl Labrador
Member of Congress
1st District, Idaho
I’d rather my congress idiot stay far away.
Who knows how many twenty, thirty, sixty, maybe many more used the same sick, sorry, lame excuse; once again they treat us like we are stupid, they can just bend over one more time like they did on 1/6/15 and kiss their butts good bye.
“The members are also planning a retreat sometime in the next couple of months to lay out their next steps.”
This may be what Cruz reminded us of when he said the people don’t realize how close we are to taking our government back.
Would love to be a fly on the wall of that meeting....I suspect it may well end up being held in someones home as there are too may “otherwise” places that could be bugged.
Time well tell.I truly wish them the best in every way possible!
We need to be praying about this group of men...and their meetings...that God Himself will lead them as He did the Founders of our country.
A much needed action.
The gop faction of the uniparty is hopeless, shameless, feckless, and useless. That said, this isn’t all that bad of an idea.
This group began meeting and coming together back when Cruz did his filibuster all night...and even before that. I saw several aarticles that lightly mentioned this in their articles but nobody’s focused on it in the media.
Of course the media will call it a break or split...in a negatvie light...but we know that if this works the GOP will end up the third party and pushed aside....hopefully.
Too bad the libertarians don’t get behind them as well.
This is good. The RSC is too big, too unwieldy to really come up with innovative policy. Too many cooks...
