We must never hesitate to stand with our allies. We should never hesitate to speak the truth. In Paris or anywhere else in the world.
On Sunday, leaders representing Europe, Israel, Africa, Russia, and the Middle East linked arms and marched together down Place de la Concorde in Paris. But, sadly, no one from the White House was found among the more than 40 Presidents and Prime Ministers who walked the streets with hundreds of thousands of French citizens demonstrating their solidarity against radical Islamic terrorists.
The absence is symbolic of the lack of American leadership on the world stage, and it is dangerous. The attack on Paris, just like previous assaults on Israel and other allies, is an attack on our shared values. And, we are stronger when we stand together, as French President François Hollande said, for liberty, equality, and fraternity.

I'm not sure who this Canadian is.

Irrespective of what TV stations you watch, the fact remains that news reports about the rally I Evita boy made mention of free speech, putting the lie to your “ I never heard a year mention of free speech” in reports about the Paris rally mantra.
This wasn't a "foreign policy" mission where any decisions were going to be made. U.S. Senators and Congressmen travel overseas all the time -- and on the taxpayer's dime, too.
Oh, lookie here ...
Not only did Ted Cruz take a tour of these nations last year ... he also took it upon himself to criticize the Obama administration in a public address on one of these stops.
Oh, I see ... but he can't travel to a stupid rally in France, right?
Either one of these would be a stupid, inane reason for a high-ranking U.S. official to go overseas and lock arms with a bunch of other foreign leaders in Paris.
Ted Cruz took a tour of these nations last year huh? Oh wait so did I o er the last few years and so did millions of people, none of whom took part in that rally. Taking a tour of some nation is not equal to attending this rally.
Virtually every single media report about the rally mentioned press freedom, which was what it was all about in the first place. Without that there would be no murders and therefore no rally. That is a far cry from your claim of no mention being made in press reports a about press freedom at all. After all, it’s the press who were attacked in this case and who more keenly feel the threat more than anyone else. They’d a make sure no one forgot that aspect of it.
Netanyahu ended up going yes, as a result the French president left the ceremony honoring the dead at the Grand Synagogue Sunday night the moment Netanyahu started speaking, after being seated through most of the ceremony. In addition Holland swore that relations between France and Israel would be adversely affected by this conduct of Netanyahu as long as he Hollande remained president of France.
Not to mention, the French government deliberately sent out invitations to foreign HEADS of states(read Obama or his representative like Kerry, NOT Ted Cruz) to attend the rally. No invitations were sent out to leglislatures to attend.
Do you even know who organized that rally?
