Conservative talk radio host and commentator Glenn Beck on Saturday saw a screening of Selma, a film shot in the Yellowhammer State about the Alabama citys role in the Civil Rights struggle, and immediately after it concluded took to Facebook to urge every American to go see it.
"We saw Selma tonight. I really wanted to see it but at the same time I worried about the spin of the story. It is an Oprah movie. She attended J. Wrights church. If she could sit through those sermons, God only knows what she really believes. The last thing I want to do is be preached to about how racist America is.
Would it be a message movie or would they tell the whole truth and let it speak for itself?
I am thrilled to say, this is a movie that every American should see. Now, it is equally important for those on the Right to see this film. Many think we are living the civil rights era again I do not believe we are, yet there are some of the same roots. The targeting of King and anyone who stands against the power in D.C., the loss of rights, although nowhere to the extent of what blacks went through.
To me this film tells me it will be our children black and white, Left and Right that will fight this battle and not us. Will they be prepared, educated and humble enough to stand for all men are created equal?

I don’t waste my time with the movies of today. I’ll pass.
He called the movie a firehose on Ferguson and other issues. Firehose? Really? Does he ever think before he opens his mouth?
Nope. Pass.
Nope.
An Oprah/Harpo production = No Go for me.
I don’t watch propaganda films.
Exactly. What are we going to learn that we didn’t already know?
Get over it, folks, move on.
Ditto.
No. I do not voluntarily have anything to do with anything Oprah Winfrey has had anything to do with.
Even if it is mostly factually correct, the tone is inevitably "White people evil, every one else good".
I refuse to spend my money on anything that denigrates me or my family.
Oh, and PS: Beck is a two-faced doosh. Divorce yourself from him. He is speeding towards irrelevancy. I think he got bought off by big money, just like Sean Hannity got bought off by Saudis.
Would that include the family of LBJ?
I saw Orca. That’s close enough for me.
Hey, I have a REALLY original idea for a new movie in the future...it’ll be about the 1960’s during the civil rights protests. It will show how bad racism was, and how the black people struggled!
Why should we see it? WE lived those days and remember them well, from the bus boycott to Central High and Woolworths in Little Rock and too many other things from that time.
As the old country saying goes, “When you stir old s#!t, you find it still stinks.”
Another movie by blacks for blacks and self-hating white liberals.
No thanks, “do the right thing” was plenty.
You are positively Shakespearean in your brilliant creativity!!!
Agree.
Just like 12 YEARS A SLAVE.
Hollywood has to keep pushing the black victim mentality on Americans, blacks especially, to keep them voting for Demonrats.
Whole purpose of these films is to ‘create black consciousness’ — blame whitey and play the race card forever.
Forget we have a black (half black) President, Attorney General, Supreme Court Justice...
This is going to be made mandatory viewing in every school in the country. Bet Obama makes it “law” in February which I believe is Black Month.
