PETER HITCHENS: The sinister, screeching mob who want to kill free speech (And no, I DON'T mean the

Once again we are ruled by a Dictatorship of Grief. Ever since the death of Princess Diana, we have been subject to these periodic spasms when everyone is supposed to think and say the same thing, or else.

We were told on Friday that ‘politicians from all sides’ had lined up to attack Ukip’s Nigel Farage for supposedly ‘exploiting’ the Paris massacre.

Mr Farage had (quite reasonably) pointed out that the presence of Islamist fanatics in our midst might have something to do with, a) uncontrolled mass migration from the Muslim world, and b) decades of multicultural refusal to integrate them into our laws and customs.

Rather than disputing this with facts and logic (admittedly this would be hard), the three ‘mainstream’ parties joined in screeching condemnation.

The Prime Minister, whose government was busy exploiting the tragedy to shore up the (already vast) snooping powers of the State, said it was not the day to make political arguments.

Why ever not? What could be more political than discussing how to defend ourselves against this sort of crime? If it is not political, then why is he talking about it at all, instead of leaving the matter to the Archbishop of Canterbury?

The Home Secretary, Theresa May, a hungry headline-seeker and reliable sucker for any scheme to diminish freedom that her civil servants drop on her desk, said Mr Farage was ‘irresponsible’(continued)

In the US it begins simply enough, by congress repealing Teddy Kennedy’s repulsive immigration “reform” of 1968, that gives preference to fourth world radical agitators and primitives over intelligent, hard working westerners.

By repealing that act, we return to a system of quotas, set by congress, of how many people we admit from what countries; and what qualifications they must have. If selected in this quota, entry to the US and citizenship are much easier, and integration is a big part of that.

Perhaps they must be able to speak English, to understand our constitution and know something of our history. Perhaps they must bring enough wealth with them so they may care for themselves while they get work. Perhaps they must shun welfare and other government largesse for a given number of years.

All of this is far better than what we have today. And the best part is that those here illegally either go through the process, or they are given jail time, deported, and permanently barred from reentry.

Excellent article. It exposes the hypocrisy of the Left and shows why Europe is finished unless they wake up to the REAL threat (hint: it’s not Nigel Farage and others frantically sounding the alarm klaxon about Islam)!

The Brits are leading the western political landscape with their Independence Party. It has been around for about 20 years as an anti NWO political movement.
When we decide to take the TP into its own party structure we will begin having the kind of influence UKIP is winning.
In the UK the pro nationalist Independent party will become the largest and most powerful political movement in Europe. As soon as we get off the dime and build the TP into a legitimate party the same will be true here.
Farage, of course, is absolutely correect about the beast in the living room. Until we here in the US and our friends in Europe clean up the multicultural slime that is glutting western civilization we will not stop ethnic violence.
Watch Obama’s attempts to use his WH workshop on violence as a whitewash for Muslim extremism.

“My understanding is that the USA has an excellent written constitution. How is that working out for you?”

Heck, we have the Bible, the inspired Word of God and still people can’t seem to follow it. . . so, can we expect better of men that can’t always follow God’s Law but yet follow the Constitution flawlessly? All things considered, we in the US with our Constitution, we are doing quite well as opposed to the world that basically doesn’t see the point in agreeing there are natural laws, that we have inalienable rights granted by The Creator, not man.

CC only by strict permit on UK mainland. CC allowed in NI.

Handguns on mainland banned in 1997, not in NI. After Dunblane. Assault rifles banned in NI and all UK in 1988 after Hungerford.

UK mainland does allow small amount of handguns: semi-auto pistols up to .22, some pistols/handguns with permit (566 in Scotland, number for Eng and Wales not known, but they are 10 ten times Scots population, so could be 5000+).

Rifles and shotguns legal.

Ok, but it would still be nice to see the constitution honored. Might solve a lot of problems.

From the article

What could be more political than discussing how to defend ourselves against this sort of crime?

I agree it is generally well written, but to call acts of war, of invasion, of terrorism 'crime' is to exactly play into the hands he wishes to be critical of. 'What's there to discuss, it is a crime, we've made it a crime, the police will investigate the crime, it's all done talking about.'

He cedes the most important discussion point: What should be the response to an act of war? But he cuts off all discussion by calling it a crime, and by gosh, why is someone commenting on a common crime, etc.
