Once again we are ruled by a Dictatorship of Grief. Ever since the death of Princess Diana, we have been subject to these periodic spasms when everyone is supposed to think and say the same thing, or else.

We were told on Friday that ‘politicians from all sides’ had lined up to attack Ukip’s Nigel Farage for supposedly ‘exploiting’ the Paris massacre.

Mr Farage had (quite reasonably) pointed out that the presence of Islamist fanatics in our midst might have something to do with, a) uncontrolled mass migration from the Muslim world, and b) decades of multicultural refusal to integrate them into our laws and customs.

Rather than disputing this with facts and logic (admittedly this would be hard), the three ‘mainstream’ parties joined in screeching condemnation.

The Prime Minister, whose government was busy exploiting the tragedy to shore up the (already vast) snooping powers of the State, said it was not the day to make political arguments.

Why ever not? What could be more political than discussing how to defend ourselves against this sort of crime? If it is not political, then why is he talking about it at all, instead of leaving the matter to the Archbishop of Canterbury?

The Home Secretary, Theresa May, a hungry headline-seeker and reliable sucker for any scheme to diminish freedom that her civil servants drop on her desk, said Mr Farage was ‘irresponsible’(continued)

Thanks for posting. This is a well written piece by Peter Hitchens, who clearly has a good understanding of the situation and of the European ruling establishment.

Funny how fast they committed to world war when a duke was assassinated in the Balkans...but want to avoid harming relations with the oil rich Arabians for something so plain to see and understand as the infiltration and subjugation of an entire nation as Britain...uhm...something is afoul here...

The NOW that they are experiencing has turned the tides...used the “multiculturalism” against their host...and the host NOW realizes that the infection is great!

I can’t say we in the US have done much better from what I’ve seen...and I’m greatly concerned about it!

Well, it was the same “logic” they used to quash gun ownership in Britain.
“Because of one nutbag, everyone must be disarmed, for the good of allll.”
But here, it is “because of deranged Muslims being murderously offended by anything, you must be silenced, for the good of alllll.”

They are doing the same to Le Pen in France, accusing her of exploiting the situation.

The powers that be are scared s-less of Farage and Le Pen, they know their days are numbered.

As for freedom, here's an interesting thing. The French Leftist newspaper Liberation reported on September 12, 1996, that three stalwarts of Charlie Hebdo (including Stephane 'Charb' Charbonnier) had campaigned in their magazine to collect more than 170,000 signatures for a petition calling for a ban on the French National Front party. They did this in the name of the 'Rights of Man'. You, like me, may dislike the National Front greatly. But lovers of liberty simply do not seek to ban parties they do not like.

Frankly these idiots should be less worried about the far right rising than their system completely collapsing since they pretend to defend people or their freedom but never have the people’s back, even after they willingly disarm.

Hopefully we will still have our guns when it all collapses here, but over there? They are screwed.

Le Pen and Farage have good reason, and every right to exploit Muslim atrocities in their societies. They seem to be all but alone in their governments in wanting to tell people the truth about what’s being done to them, both by the Muslims and their self-serving political class.

Most fear Political Correctness more than Islam.

Don’t be “correct”.

The brits are going to stay stuck between the left or choose some kind of nationalist party since they do not have a constitutions or guns for independent representation.

Yes. Ironically, in their misplaced efforts to squash intolerance, they are allowing/promoting the immigration of those who epitomize intolerance, and gravely endangering the rest of us in the process.

Regarding guns, I agree.

As for a written constitution. I guess it depends on who is doing the interpreting. My understanding is that the USA has an excellent written constitution. How is that working out for you?

The UK didn’t ban guns, just some. Which I opposed.
