Kelvin Cochran was five-years-old when he realized that he wanted to be a firefighter....
God granted Kelvin Cochran the desires of his heart. The little boy in the shotgun shack grew up to become the fire chief of Shreveport. He was named the Atlanta fire chief in 2008 – a position he served until 2009 when was called to serve in the Obama Administration as a fire administrator. In 2010 he returned to Atlanta where he was unanimously confirmed to once again be the city’s fire chief.
But now Chief Cochran’s storied career is up in smoke – all because of a book he wrote for a men’s Bible study group at his Baptist church.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced Tuesday that Cochran had been fired....
Cochran had been suspended in November because of a passage he wrote about homosexuality in a book titled, “Who Told You That You Were Naked?” The book’s theme is about biblical morality.

Funny how he claims to be United Methodist, but got named Muhammad Kasim by his dad who was “considering” converting to Islam. (No difference, I would presume, with a sizable segment of the UMC reportedly adopting a pro-Islam position.)
“Wan released a statement supporting Cochran’s termination and said it “sends a strong message to employees about how much we value diversity and how we adhere to a non-discriminatory environment.””
Do they have no idea how insane they are??? “Diversity” is apparently valued as long as it doesn’t extend to Christianity. They champion a “non-discriminatory environment” as long as it doesn’t extend to Christians. Sheesh!
Why would a devoted Christian seek to serve a clearly UNchristian politician, and not expect a test of his/her faith? I believe most Freepers knew Obummer was not a sincere Christian early on in his 1st term.
I hope he sues for his job and a boatload of money and I hope he wins.
Mayor Reed shouldn’t antagonize the Christians in Atlanta, they might riot!

Good idea. We should also stand up against the left’s fight to limit free speech. It has also been happening on college campuses now for decades where speakers such as Ann Coulter ae attacked and censorship is running wild.

But the police in uniform are able to make political statements in FAVOR of same sex marriages and get accolades.. Why does one get the stick and the other the promotion.
