There is an old saying, the entirety of which escapes me, but has to do with not doing battle with someone that buys ink by the barrel.

The pen, as long as it is not broken by a government, will prevail.

And even if broken by a government, there are those that will pick up the pieces and continue writing.

So it has been since the first written word.
