Has Jeb Bush offered the Republican Party a new way to talk about same-sex marriage?
Fred Sainz thinks he has.
Sainz grew up two doors down from Bush in Coral Gables, Fla., and counts the former Florida governor as an early mentor who got Sainz a job working for Bushs father in the White House. But Sainz left the GOP in 2004 after George W. Bush, Bushs brother, railed against same-sex marriage in his reelection campaign.
Sainz, now a leader of the gay rights movement as a vice president of the Human Rights Campaign, sees an important evolution in the likely 2016 presidential candidate.
In 1994, Jeb Bush argued that gay men and lesbians did not deserve special legal protection and said that sodomy should not be elevated to the same constitutional status as race and religion. But this week, Bush said people should accept court rulings that legalize same-sex marriage and show respect for gays in committed relationships, while reiterating his long-held belief that marriage is a sacrament.(continued)

Shut up Jeb! I will vote for Hitlery before I support you.
Gee. How inclusive! Maybe Jeb could emulate that Big Gay Bob or whatever on South Park....maybe they could all get gay together....
No. It’s the same old chicken-livered way lots of people have used. It is the road to failure and a signal of future capitulation.
FReep You Jeb Bus (FUJB)!! Homosexual agenda pusher, amnestyy pimp and Common Core advocate. This statist might as well run as a Democrat.
I know he opposed it, but I never heard him "railing" against it.
The Republican party has lost the way.
The Atlanta fire chief just lost his job—targeted by homosexuals for speaking his Christian beliefs.
Such a typical Bush. He's too stupid or feckless to take and hold a coherent position over time. So he gets swept along with the Liberal elite opinions. His view is, once the Libs win, we need to respect it.
Just the Compost boosting a man who can’t win. Same ol......
I have decided that I want Jeb Bush to run for President in the Republican primaries. I also want Mittens, Christie and every other moderate or liberal RINO that we can think of to run.
I am tired of the conservative votes getting split while the establishment RINO sails through to the nomination. It would be nice if this time the moderate and liberal votes get split among multiple candidates.
If Jeb Bush or Mittens or Christie actually gets the nomination, then Hillary will win so it doesn't matter either way.
0.0% chance of Jeb getting my vote.
I think Mitt Romney only won the nomination because the Virginia Republican party kicked all his main opposition off the primary ballot. I think the Virginia Republican party is too filled with Government Teat sucking Establishment types.
Bush seems to be a good excellent example of the constitutionally clueless elite, particularly where the constitutionally unchecked, 10th Amendment-protected powers of the people are concerned as is the case with constitutionally unprotected gay rights.
Same-sex marriage? This is going to be the hot topic for 2016? F@ck the gays. I have had enough. These little fascist fruitcakes can die of aids. They are worse than the hollywood commies trying to take down the country.
There was an old saying, “AMERICA LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!” I think we need to bring that back.
Like the court is the final arbiter of morality. If he is correct then we should have never questioned Jim Crow laws.
“after George W. Bush, Bushs brother, railed against same-sex marriage in his reelection campaign. “
Funny, I don’t recall anything of the sort
Jeb taking both sides of the argument, he agrees with EVERYONE on this.
