Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has been fired for authoring a Christian book in 2013 that described homosexuality as a sexual perversion.
By Jessica Chasmar - The Washington Times - Tuesday, January 6, 2015 Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has been fired for authoring a Christian book in 2013 that described homosexuality as a sexual perversion.
Mr. Cochran had just returned to work Tuesday at the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department following a monthlong suspension for comments in his book, Who Told You That You Are Naked? the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
In the book, Mr. Cochran identifies himself as Atlantas fire chief and says its his first priority within the department to cultivate its culture to the glory of God. He was accused of distributing copies of the book at work, prompting an investigation into potential discrimination within the fire department. The findings of that investigation have not yet been released, the Journal-Constitution reported.

yep, though covered up in the annals of history, appears many nazis had homosexual leanings just as they do today.
“Ah, the Beast are the homosexuals. Sounds crazy but Im starting to believe it”
Just because queer behavior is beastly does not make them The Beast. Being a sodomite is far from being a fallen arch angel.
I agree with you whether you think homosexuality is a sin or whether you don’t if you are not at work you should be allow to voice your opinion with out fear of reprisal. this goes double if your job is state or federal in origin. the fascist are here and they are liberal.
Thank You for affirmation that nazis of ‘30s were/had homosexual leanings by providing a link. My appreciation.
You’re very welcome! I came across the link a few years back right here on FR. Amazing how closely the progs of today resemble the Nazis. Amazing and frightening.
I think copies were distributed at work. I don’t think he was suspended for writing about homosexuality. I think it had something to do with the cover saying he worked as a fireman. If I’m right, this article must’ve been written by homosexuals, because it’s very dishonest.
He had more guts and deserves more respect for standing up for what is right than every GA rep who voted for Boehne.r
For trying to save souls from more than the fire of this world, a fire no one can put out.
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9:47-48)
He needs to check if he has his hand in the hand of the Lord, and so do the rest of us.
If we do... then quit the fretting for Almighty God’s sake. All this outrage before the world isn’t worth jack squat. We can let it go.
"Whining" would be wrong, but for the gospel's sake, the freedom to live out and preach the faith, then exposing injustice and calling those responsible for it to accountablity can have its place.
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: (Acts 16:19-23)
And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out. (Acts 16:35-37)
And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans. And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city. (Acts 16:38-39)
And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned? When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman. (Acts 22:25-26)
It’s so easy to make it about ourselves today and, yes, to look like whiners.
Without the tone of the statements being taken into account, citing them can be misleading. Paul was very busy boasting about Jesus Christ. Not about himself. And this is about way more than morals, incidentally. If you want morals, Buddhism (just to pick something at random) will do you just fine. If you want a competent Eternal Savior, there is only one on the market.
