In the biggest defection from an incumbent speaker in at least 100 years, 25 House Republicans voted for someone other than John Boehner to serve as speaker in the 114th Congress.
Here's the full list, in order: 1.Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.) -- Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) 2.Rep. Brian Babin (Tex.) -- present 3.Rep. Rod Blum (Iowa) -- Rep. Dan Webster (R-Fla.) 4.Rep. Dave Brat (Va.) -- Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) ...click link for more

Except the ones backing amnesty, perhaps. Don’t forget those in this equation.
Like hell he will.
Who sent them there?
I'm looking for a reason to be positive but really can't find anything, since the People's House no longer belongs to the American people, as was sadly demonstrated in todays coup.

I’ll be calling Rep. Kelly (PA-3) tomorrow. At every damn turn over the past four months he has sided decidedly against what many in my are are for and for what many in my area are against. It will be my mission to make sure he is not re-elected (least not as a Republican; he might as well take that short walk across the “isle”). He is a go-along to get along pig.
The second round of voting is mentioned in this article with no restrictions...a second round would mean all not part.

I would not think only a few would re vote, therefore with chaos, it would be possible for a really split vote if Boehner lost first time...opening a door for the Wicked Witch of the West. So be careful what you wish for, and if anyone can find anything different please post it.
“Non-affiliated is where I started and now Im back.”
What kept ya? :-)
Welcome back to right side of the railroad tracks.
“25 Principled men who are wasting their time in Washington.”
Yep. And when more of us come to the conclusion that we’re wasting our time, things might change.
Thank you Texokie. I appreciate it.
Thanks Kackikat. I wasn’t mentioning you to differ, but rather to explain where I came up with the open vote concept in the second round.
I would disagree with you, but only if the majority of the Republicans who did not vote for Boehner, had voted for one select person.
As it was, you had the typical herd of cats that make up the Republican House doing what cats do, heading off across the 360 degree spectrum of space.
So hey, I can’t find fault with your premise.
Reminiscent of ObBo’s voting record in the Senate.
I understand. The only one who got more than three votes was Daniel Webster, 12 votes says he has a future, it was a larger percentage of the rogue votes. Still no where near enough to say a second vote would have a different outcome unless chaos split the Republicans (RINOS OR OTHERWISE).
A split could have given Pelosi a chance...scary as he$$.
Thank you kindly for the answer. I just read Steve King, representative of Iowa helped lead the “revolt”, the article’s words. May have something to do with it.
:-D you are most welcome!
Just changed over to non-affiliated today also.
My Critter, Webster, did the right thing. Voted against cromnibus too.
Sure are a lot of Websters on that list.
Sure is.
You Texas folks out there need to ask what the heck are our Texas delegation thinking?
All of them except for one (not counting Louie) are a sell out for the get along crowd.
I KNOW for a fact that MY contributions will stop if his explanation isn’t what I want to hear!
