Because of bundling, even though no one watches CNN, that race-baiting, left-wing network is still wildly profitable.

MSNBC is a product of NBCUniversal which is owned by the stunningly profitable (13 bil op income last year) regime affiliate Comcast. They can lose money until the cows come home and stay on the air.

Just bailed on my Satellite service yesterday. Will be going all streaming for my entertainment with an upgrade to my network service. Between Netflix, Hulu+ and Amazon Prime, I will have more than enough time wasting potential and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper.
The only reason we still have cable is basically because of Fox News channel. You're right, if Fox was streamed live on netflix or other device, cable would be goners.
I have high speed internet through my cable tv ‘provider’, (Charter). I only have internet, no phone or cable tv. I pay extra for a higher tier, costs about $45/mo, plus about $20 for Netflix. I get new blue ray dvds in the mail, the absolute best way to watch movies, imo, just about every tv show I want to watch, either streaming or ordered on disc. It helps that I’m not much of a sports fan. Our family gets Netflix on all phones, tablets, tvs and computers, and we are allowed 2 devices running at a time. We can watch streaming wherever we are.
Roku + PlayOn + Plex Media Server; haven’t had cable in 2 years now; get all the live TV and streaming shows I could imagine.
Netflix, Hulu and similar services are primo. Most are cheap — Netflix is around $8 a month. Why should I pay more than twice that for crappy cable?
Lost Sat TV 5 years ago and got a portable XM radio for the audio only side of Fox News. I go to the 60s music channel when Combs or Shep come on. Play it through the stereo and can take in the car on long trips. $12/mo.
It’s a game changer in my mind. People can get Espn thru Roku and other devices like Chromecast. I found a left wing tech site bashing it last night. I posted the yahoo article. The comments on tech site, which last night were 14, were in favor of the idea.
The big cons are we don’t know the full lineup yet ( I say that people some people claim other channels signed up to be OTT that have not been announced) and over time it will change or other packages created. Since it is Dish we hope that contract negotiations with other channels won’t disrupt the service. And since Fox News was pulled off the Dish then it is not part of this service yet.
But also the software and system might need to iron out some kinks. It won’t be able to record or DVR to the cloud ot anything, but on demand content and replays will be available.
But Sony already lineup it’s own online service to roll out this year as well.
¡Muy caliente! (even when the temperature is freezing)
My area gets nothing but a blue screen unless you have a satellite dish like Direct TV.
When network TV went digital everything went blank.
When network TV went digital everything went blank.
My stations all come in from Springfield, MO. and I live 100 miles from there. I probably get a dozen channels.
If you have a newer set or converter you should get something.
My wife set us up with Xfinity X1 service which replaced our old set top DVR box. I hate it. One of the new 'improvements' is that they make it very difficult to block stuff like that. It's possible but you have to go through a process that takes way too much effort as apposed to the old way.
They also have eliminated the one-button press Favorites access....thereby keeping you from easily skipping over Bravo, Logo, OWN, Oxygen, Lifetime, etc, etc. You have to go deep into a menu driven selection process to make a Favorites list and accessing it is just as kludgey. No more one button press to scroll through your Favorites.
As I said, I hate it. I could list 10 other things about X1 that suck. But I can't switch back as Comcast refuses saying everyone will be switched over eventually.

Brand new HD flat screen, nothing over the air.
There are no stations or booster towers close enough.
You need the ghetto box.
Do you have the ghetto box?
It is simply a digital converter. We call them ghetto boxes because they were heavily advertised to ghetto people when TV went digital and the free coupon sent by FedGov just covered the price of the lowest model.
We had the lowest model.
I have a new digital ready HD TV, a ghetto box does nothing when there is no signal.
Direct TV is like that as well. Deep in a menu system you can program it to skip certain channels, but they still show up in the Guide schedule. I want it to eliminate that as well, but no go......................
It’s especially frustrating when the guide shows the Playboy channel and the PPV porn channels with titles like “Hot Wet Nubile Teens” and such.......................
Wouldn't be allowed in my house.
I know on my mother's Charter box you can block the titles also and I did.
