If climate alarmists succeed in turning back the clock, food and energy will again become reserved for the rich and powerful, and billions of poor people will die of starvation or exposure.

I'm kinda thinkin' that's their intended goal. Toss in some earth islands/turtle islands, add a few wildlife corridors where people are forbidden to go(except, of course, "special folks") toss in well regulated population centers where folks have no need for private transportation(except, of course, "special folks") and voila! U-dopia.
