Jeb Bush, a likely Republican presidential candidate, called for "respect" of same-sex marriages on Monday as his home state of Florida began allowing gays to wed following a court ruling.
Bush, a former governor of Florida, said in a statement that even those like him who oppose same-sex marriage must "respect the rule of law" now that the state's ban on gay marriages has been ruled unconstitutional.
By acknowledging legalized gay marriage in Florida -- though stopping short of outright supporting it -- Bush has struck a more conciliatory tone than many of the other Republicans eyeing presidential runs in 2016.

I am pretty much planning on staying home. I have always voted too, but elections don’t mean much anymore. The president rules by fiat, the judiciary always overturns the votes and will of the people who vote on issues in the States and if the Congress does anythhing at all, it is to serve the bankers and Wall Street crowd who feather their nests.
All we get from it is loss of freedom, taxes, and looming debt.
So, what is the point? Maybe some day we might have an American Spring, or maybe not.
In a way, I envy the RINOs I work with who will probably vote for Jebbie. They are still deluding themselves into thinking that Jebster is somehow preferable to a ‘rat. I guess they can feel a small measure of happiness about that, even though the happiness is an illusion.
I respect unicorns, gay marriage, and Obama’s patriotism equally. All three are completely imaginary, and I have an equally low level of respect for all three fictional constructs.
I was 99% certain that I’d be staying home on Election Day in 2016, but this seals it. I’m taking any and all RNC mailings for fundraising, attaching them to a brick, and sending them back - forcing them to pay the postage.
Jeb strikes a liberal tone here, but we all know that the Bushes lurch left when they think we’re not looking. I’d bet even money that we see him at a homo wedding within the next five years, celebrating the occasion. His family has already done it. Hell, H.W. Bush was an official witness at one a while back.
I’m sitting at home. We might need total collapse first before rebuilding and moral reset can occur.

He’s in the wrong party.
GO TO HELL!
Its simple. If you support these rulings which are arbitrary and not based on anything but modern elitism you are NOT a constitutionalist. There is no civil right to gay marriage any more than there is a civil right to incestuous marriage, or under age marriage. States have always defined the limits on marriage since the founding also they as well as the federal government have used gender as a context of law and still do. The job of judges is not to decide whether they think a law is wise or good but whether it is constitutional something which laws in support of traditional marriage most certainly are. If people doesn’t like them they should be able to easily repeal them at the state level.
Show up at the polls anyway, and write in the name “Ted Cruz.”
That’s what I’m going to do if Ted is not the nominee.
“respect the rule of law”
Amen. This amounts to tyranny of the judiciary.
There’s nothing to respect, Jeb.
Not with them or you.
So when pastors are forced to perform gay marriage, which is guaranteed to be the next hurdle on the agenda of these freaks, where will he be?
Evidently Jeb and Hillary have a bet on who will win, but they have to go after the same voters....lol
screw you and the establishment who are nothing but cowards to social issues and you lot wonder why conservatives won’t vote for you.
It shows how dumb or elitist the establishment is when they won’t fight for social issues and then put another Bush on the ticket
I;m sure the Bush women will be happy with another activist judge.
Same here, I have never ever stayed at home for any election , even a local one , but this time I will if Bush is the nominee.
I will never ever go along with this sham homo marriage and have already told homosexuals this and will continue to until the day I die plus my kids are the same as me.
No these queers spent million and got out their votes in my state of FL.
they lost and now they will act like babies having tantrums looking to overthrow the law and the state constitution while thinking we should all accept it.
WELL NOT THIS FAMILY FU homostapo
At least never gives up their fight and gets what they want in the end, unlike most of the pansy , cowardly buffoons in our party.
The “rule of law”would be following, and enforcing, the laws (and the constitutional amendments) made by the People or their representatives.
Laying down for courts with no authority rendering lawless and increasingly crazy decisions is most certainly NOT the rule of law. It’s rule by lawyers, which is not the same thing at all.
The Governor of Florida is a coequal authority with his state courts, and as the only one who has taken an oath to faithfully execute the people’s laws is arguably superior to Article III courts, at least those established by Congress.
This is the time for open defiance, not AGAINST the rule of law but in recognition that defiance of immoral and unconstitutional orders IS the rule of law.
