LGBT-owned businesses supported by outreach

SAN FRANCISCO — As a Mexican-American woman who started her own consulting firm in Los Angeles, accountant Sonia Luna has taken advantage of programs aimed at helping minority- and female-owned businesses compete for government and corporate contracts. But increasingly, the fact that Luna is a lesbian entrepreneur hasn't hurt, either.

Federal agencies, organizations such as the National Football League and more than one-third of Fortune 500 companies are trying to expand their vendor pools by explicitly encouraging bids from gay, lesbian and transgender contractors.

The little-known outreach efforts mirror longstanding “supplier diversity” initiatives aimed at developing economic opportunities for businesses owned by racial minorities, women and disabled veterans.

“It allows me to be even prouder of who I am,” said Luna, who hopes her firm, Aviva Spectrum, will benefit from a new California law requiring large utility companies to report how much they spend with LGBT contractors. “And it allows the marketplace to acknowledge a class that has been denied recognition as a minority group.”

Corporate liberalism. Also discriminatory bidding processes to give them preferential treatment.

Perhaps supported by outreach, but not by me.

Shove it.

Oops, forgot.

There is no discrimination for marriage, they can marry the opposite sex like we can.
As for them always getting more funding then that is discrimination as the finding is based on how they have their sick sex.

They can play happy families and sham marriages but they will always be told off this family they are not married nor mentally stable.

This is corruption plain and simple.

Why should anyone know or care about this aspect of the owner of a contracting company’s personal life?

There is not even a justification for it analogous to female or minority preferences.

1980: "What do you do for a living?" .... "I'm an accountant."

2015: "What do you do for a living?" .... "I'm a gay accountant!".

What a boring life it must be, to be completely defined by who you shtup in the bedroom.

I was just in San Franciso visiting family for Christmas.

Every time I go there it hits home that our country really is no more than Brazil with nukes, but in this case, with added sodomites.

My child is going to be raised in Texas. I am never moving back to that evil place.

Supplier diversity initiatives are illegal and unconstitutional.

"What a boring life it must be, to be completely defined by who you shtup in the bedroom"

You could re-order that statement and say it must be a boring life to be interested in, worried about, or consumed by what is going on in the homosexual's bedroom.

I have heard it said that there are many heterosexuals who support homosexual marriage only because they think that religious right will stay focused on what is going on in the homo's bedroom and stop being interested in what is going on the hetero's bedroom.

Agree but good luck with that. The gay “lobby” seems to have infiltrated every branch and every level of gov all in an effort to secure special rights for themselves and the ensure that no right-wing homophobe such as yourself ever seeks to put a stop to their behavior

I agree, why should anyone give a klingon krap what freaky deeky crap goes on in someone’s bedroom. In fact knowing if someone places parts in feces that shouldn’t be there may actively discourage me from eating at a resturant, but not because I am “homophobic” but because I am a bit OCD about Germs, i guess I am a germaphobe!!!!! and Statisically to the CDC people who enguage in “risky sexual behavior” carry a higher rate of Germs and such.

So is my OCD with Germs a protected class that trumps that????

It used to be polite to keep all the sexual behavior between two people, well BETWEEN JUST THE TWO people, and not like today where it has turned into a DAM BLASTED SPECTATOR SPORT!

” a new California law requiring large utility companies to report how much they spend with LGBT contractors. “

Isn’t this wrong in the way that making people wear yellow stars is wrong....

I mean think about it, if a company spends 0 on Alphabet soup contractors, even if there is none to hire in the area, they would become a target for the radical leftists. They leftists may even start up a hokey fake contractor that subcontracts THROUGH who is already doing the work and FORCE THEM to hire them for graft.... You know something called EXTORTION!

So instead of paying 1,000 a week to company A, you end up being forced via media smear campaign to pay “LGBT Company B” 1,500 a week for them to sub-contract the same work to Company A who still is only gettign 1,000 a week. So the LGBT company could sit there and act like a middleman to get 500 a week for doing nothing at all whatsoever!!!!!

It is nothing but a cleverly disguised extortion scheme using the power of the state to mark people with the yellow star of “Homophobia” if they don’t COMPLY...

contractors will be hiring LGBT fronts to get these benefits the same way they hire blacks to get that 5% affirmative action benefit on state contracts.

did you know that in many states, even Texas, that a “minority” firm who bids 4.9% more than you for a project is the “lowest bidder”?
