January 1, 2015 Sheriff: Fla. Man Decapitated Mom With Ax On New Year's Eve OLDSMAR, Fla. - A 23-year-old Tampa-area man is accused of decapitating his mother with an ax on New Year's Eve, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Christian Gomez, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Maria Suarez-Cassagne, 48, who authorities say was killed in her Oldsmar home.

Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Gomez had been upset with his mother because she wanted him to move boxes around the house, reports the paper. Gualtieri also reportedly said the 23-year-old harbored resentment towards his mother because he thought she favored his older brother over him.

It’s the ones who have no experience being one that want to be one. They have no concept if what it really is. They remind me of the foolish young men that went off to fight for Islam then decided it wasn’t the Hollywood version that they envisioned after realizing that were as low in stature as pigs to the Musims and assigned to latrine duties. They were shot later trying to escape.

I’ve spoken to several former Muslims that want no part of that life anymore. Many have described it as evil or pure evil. They are now Christians and formerly from Iran and Syria.
