Every year most western european nations sits down and watch this old skit.

German TV will start showing it in exactly 10 minutes.

In Norway we show it the night before christmas eve.

But, pretty much all European nations show this around christmas and new years.

The skit from a new years party,so I think it fits today.

Thank you for all your hard work throught the year, and I wish you all a very very best New Year :)

Cheers,

Euro

Does everyone go listen to a performance of the Radetzky March on New Year’s Day, or is that only in Vienna?

Eurotwit, thank you very much. When we visited our Danish cousin in 2007, she referred to this video. We had no clue about it but have exchanged “Same procedure as last year” each New Years Day.

Absolutely charming.

Interesting little write-up about it in Slate.
