One of those sites, where there used to be the South Shore Country Club many years ago, is prime real estate owned by the city and IMHO should not be used for this purpose. The SSCC has a spotty history (http://www.hydepark.org/parks/southshore/sstimeline.htm), including anti-semitism and racism in the middle of last century, but the city paid a lot of money acquiring the property and has put a lot of money into restoring and developing it. IMHO it should remain park district property. Politicians, Presidents included, get enough perks out of their political careers, and should not get prime real estate for their personal monuments to themselves.
