President Barack Obama reportedly issued a personal apology over the weekend after his golf game forced a pair of Army captains to relocate their wedding on a military base in Hawaii.
Bride Natalie Heimel and groom Edward Mallue Jr. actually invited Obama, who is on his annual vacation, to attend their Saturday wedding at Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, according to a Bloomberg report published Monday morning. They received a letter in response saying the president would unfortunately be unable to attend the event.
The soon-to-be-married couple were separately told they would be forced to move their wedding, which was scheduled for the next day, because Obama would be golfing at that location.
"It was kind of ironic they got the letter from them and then, within hours, they were told they had to be moved due to him," Mallue's sister told Bloomberg. "It was emotional, especially for her — she's the bride and in less than 24 hours they had to change everything they had planned."

Everyone knows the guys a douchebag, but honestly he probably personally had no idea about any of this.. I am sure some underlying replied with the declination to attend the wedding, just as I am sure underlings made sure the wedding was moved so he could golf, I doubt the guy had any idea any of this was going on...
Though it is rather safe to speculate, that any sane person would likely check personally about the impact their actions might have on others and plan accordingly, and that this guy is just to self absorbed to even bother to think like that.
Bet he would have attended the wedding if it was a pair of dork-snorkelers getting married.

Lots of folks ‘invite’ the President & First Lady to their wedding, just to get the lovely ‘Best Wishes on your Special Day’ card they send you in return.
I sent an invitation to the White House in 2006 when I got married, and while I never expected W & Laura to show up, I did get a lovely card in reply.
I have a hard time believing 2 Army captains would invite Obama for anything other than the free card!
Shameful. Problem is that 0bama has no shame.
Obama’s staff is terrible at PR. The One probably never knew a thing about this, and probably still doesn’t. He is surrounded by boot-lickers and lives in a bubble of his own arrogance.
