I might expect this of 2nd Lieutenants or Ensigns but Captains? Both of them? What did they expect, their Commander-in-Chief to say, “Not today, let them have their special day”? You have got to be chitting me.

Sounds like from the article they had a nicer venue with the change than without it. So maybe Obama did them a favor.

Your parents’ situation is different than the current. Presidents move about the country and coming home happens. It’s part of the military to adjust to senior priorities. If this couple in HI had to move the date of their wedding because they are on guard detail for Obama’s visit to HI, that would make sense.
HOWEVER, to knowingly cause this couple to lose their venue just for a golf game is reprehensible. As soon as POTUS became aware of the conflict, a man with class would have made other arrangements. There is no way he wasn’t told (especially if it made national news).
