Shoot, my Mother and Father had to move their wedding date because Nixon came to his house in San Clemente and he was in the Marines, and my father got stuck guarding his house and the front of the golf course.

So all Leave was canceled and no one could leave or enter the base except without authorization.

My mom and Dad had to move the DATE and Place because North Korea invaded South Korea.

They were supposed to be married in May in MA.

The got married in October at Ft Benning.

Your parents’ situation is different than the current. Presidents move about the country and coming home happens. It’s part of the military to adjust to senior priorities. If this couple in HI had to move the date of their wedding because they are on guard detail for Obama’s visit to HI, that would make sense.

HOWEVER, to knowingly cause this couple to lose their venue just for a golf game is reprehensible. As soon as POTUS became aware of the conflict, a man with class would have made other arrangements. There is no way he wasn’t told (especially if it made national news).
