MIAMI - Seven men are accused of forcing a teenager into a week of sex and prostitution, sometimes with more than one man at a time, police said.
The suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 43, are accused of forcing a 16-year-old girl into a week of drug-fueled prostitution. They were identified as Cornelius Edwards, Mark Evans, Jerome Grace, Greg Hill, Derrick Powell, Derrick Powell Jr. and Branden Sands.
According to police reports, the girl's school reported her missing Dec. 4 after she had gotten into a black Ford Taurus with three other people.
The girl was taken to several locations in northwest Miami-Dade County, where she was given cocaine, marijuana and alcohol and then forced to engage in sex acts with more than 16 men during the course of a week, police said.
On two occasions, she was forced to have sex with up to eight men at once, police said.
"She's in a safe place right now," Miami-Dade County state attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said. "Hopefully we'll learn more and see where we go with this case."
All seven men face charges of sexual battery at this time.
Now they look like fine upstanding members of society /sarc
My guess is that she knew one of the younger members, probably thought of him as a boyfriend. Getting into the car then, especially if she wanted to drink or smoke “stuff” with him was probably OK from her point of view. I’ve worked with a couple of Foster teens who were in sexually abusive situations, either prostituted or with multiple partners, that started with meeting up with a boyfriend.
I doubt they were father and son. They had the same last name...
Your explanation makes sense. Disgusting pigs! Foolish girl.
But, as I said, the article is so poorly written that it is confusing. If the school authorities knew to report her as missing when one of them saw her getting into a car, why would they do that if she was just getting in normally as she might with a parent? What told them that she should be considered missing? Strange.
