A hacker group known as Lizard Squad has claimed responsibility for attacks targeting both Microsofts Xbox Live and Sonys PlayStation Network (PSN) on Wednesday evening.

Microsofts Xbox Live went down for Xbox 360 users in the afternoon of December 24th, with the companys status page for the service showing that Xbox Live core services were limited.
The hacker team posted various messages on Twitter, confirming that it took down Xbox Live on Christmas Eve.

Hackers and malware writers should be dragged naked through the town square over gravel. One cycle for every affected user.
And that suggestion is only because I am filled with the Christmas spirit now.

A buddy of mine here at work just told me ten minutes ago that he tried watching The Interview on Xbox last night. Didn’t work.
