A bit of Hollywood history unfolded on Wednesday. And it might be a glimpse into the future.

The controversial Sony Pictures comedy "The Interview" was released on YouTube, Google Play, the Microsoft Xbox video game console, and a special Web site.

The movie, which started streaming online around 1 p.m. ET, costs $5.99 to rent and $14.99 to buy.

So it is having historic simultaneous release in both living rooms and, come Christmas Day, about 300 independently-owned theaters across the United States.

I have very little desire top se it myself, but I have less desire that some tin pot dictator from a third world cesspool thinks he can push this country around and tell us what we can see in our movie houses.

I agree. I heard it is boring. Sony would have had a flop on its hands and now manipulates the situation.

Everybody eats way too much on Christmas Eve. I've had about 11 oatmeal cookies, a piece of pecan pie, some scallops wrapped with bacon and about a pound of chicken legs. Not to mention the egg nog, brandy, port wine, honey mead, and these little chocolate coconut balls that taste like, well, I'm not really sure. But they are good - and I think they might have been drenched in rum before they were dipped in chocolate.

Currently listening to Anorak Christmas by Sally Shapiro.

Stupid movie. We have six people watching for 6$.

Our own beverages and snacks and no thugs or cell phone stuff.

Clean bathrooms too.
