So-called Obamacare “architect” Jonathan Gruber was called to testify at a Tuesday House regarding his past controversial remarks about the creation and passage of the health care law. While many of the testy exchanges that occurred during the hearing were covered and even trumpeted by conservative media, a furious Mark Levin said the exercise was pointless.
“The very Republicans grilling this guy don’t plan to do a damn thing about Obamacare! They’re not going to use the power of the purse to control any piece of it!” Levin shouted on the air.
“So, what is the point of a hearing? The point of a hearing is supposed to be so you are informing yourself to make legislative decisions — they are not going to make any legislative decisions. They’ve surrendered! They’re funding it!”
Levin said he refuses to “make heroes out of these members of Congress who asked great questions, who made great arguments — and then they are actually going to vote to fund this crap!”

Part of our government is theatre. Get used to it. That’s the way it is. I don’t like it, but it is what it is. Theatre does matter.

Reminds me of a long time ago when I was in a union. We had a grievance against management for bringing in outside contractors. Until the grievance was settled several of us had to take a “crap” job for almost a year. If we quit instead of taking the jobs, there would be no use for the union to keep fighting it. I told the union president “I’ll do this if you’ll promise me you’ll take this all the way to arbitration.” And I got a big promise from him.
Well, guess what. He took a job in management and the grievance was dropped after 8 months and I was out of a job.
Promises, promises. That’s all we get. And they don’t intend to keep to keep them.

They are liars and chameleons.
Indeed, because what was the practical result of a congressionally grilled Gruber?
They funded his fraud, every bit of it.

Agreed. It’s all smoke and mirrors coming out of the GOPe. They have no desire to arrest anyone or defund Ocommiecare.
It’s because the “Flag Burning Amendment” isn’t cutting it anymore for red meat.

I agree, and said so at the time, for the same reasons. Nobody cares what happened in a Congressional committee hearing within 24 hours after it happened. Hillary was right: "What difference does it make?"
Like Tom Coburn’s big list of examples of outrageous government spending. Nobody ever did anything about it, but it made people believe Republicans were serious about cutting waste and reducing spending.
When it comes down to it, Americans don’t want government spending cut. Nothing will change until the debt destroys us.
Big hairy- butt deal. All they do is bloviat feed red meat to the masses, and that’s it. NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is ever done. It’s all a show and a lie.
