There might soon be thousands more licensed drivers in the Grand Canyon State.
The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Arizona must offer drivers licenses to thousands of young immigrants who entered the United States illegally but were protected from deportation by a presidential order in 2012, The Associated Press reports.
In a 6-3 decision, justices denied Gov. Jan Brewers request for a stay on a circuit court ruling. Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas said they would have granted the stay.

I want to know who is writing Brewer's press releases they are clearly not from Kyl or McCain's people. Maybe Kobach is writing them.
Karl Rove gave us Roberts.
Rove asked Roberts to go back in history to name the justice whom he most revered. Roberts answer, Robert Jackson, intrigued and reassured Rove.

Jackson, it must be said, was mostly a rubber stamp for the New Deal.
Anyone who called out Roberts during confirmation time was called a RINO. I remember that vividly. We get what we sow I suppose.
That would mitigate it somewhat.
Immigrants? ??
Arizona must grant these dreamers Boating, Private Pilot, Professional Engineer, Medical Doctor, and Nuclear Powerplant Operator licenses as well?
Arizona should never have appealed this. Instead Brewer should have announced that under REAL ID, states are given the power to determine who is eligible, and nullify the ruling. This is the only way to overcome the corrupt Progressive judicary
How can you be given a legal license to drive in a place you are not legally suppose to be?
Say goodbye to your American citizenship and your vote. You've been canceled out.
Make the feds send troops. Show them for what they are, America hating thugs.
Presidential "order"? I am no lawyer but I don't see how the President has the authority to declare who is legal and who is not. He has the authority to delay deporting them. But how does that change their status and thus require states to grant driver licenses. I don't see how the Supremes can make such a decision UNLESS they are fine with what Obama did from a constitutionality perspective. With that precedent then the Supremes may be fine with anything Obama decrees via Presidential "order".
I don't know about Arizona, but in NC, we start voter ID in 2016.
If the perks of citizenship are to be applied to them, why not police officers as well?
The Scotus has now squarely taken aim at the concept of citizenship and destroyed it.
“Undocumented Citizens” ....the SCOTUS just legitimized it.
Refuse to comply!
It is very simple. Drivers licenses are a responsibility of the state. The Federal government has no role and the SCOTUS can not make them have one.
Tell them to send their army, last I checked the SCOTUS doesn’t have one.
Ah, but the President does have an army. Run a search on "Little Rock + 1957" to see how that army was used.
In AZ they register you to vote when they give you a DL and send you the mail in ballot based upon that. So people who have no Birth Certificate, no Alien Card, no insurance, no dependable identity will now have the gold card of photo ID with the backing of the State government.
What a sham.
Someone obviously has something ‘on’ Roberts. I’m sure he’s being blackmailed.
He abruptly changed his mind with the ACA ruling, apparently at the last minute. After establishing the mandate was a “tax”, he ignored his own ruling, because the legislation originated in the Senate, which taxes can not do. He ignored that fact when it came before him again.
He is clearly corrupted, and can’t be depended on. He is certainly compromised at some level. If that’s the case, he should resign, when there is a president that’s fit to replace him. (will there be one anytime soon?...)
Better to die fighting than on your knees. Bring it. They haven’t got any justification, they are entirely in the wrong.
This needs to happen; aside from an Article V convention, I don't see any peaceful resolution to federal tyranny.
Agreed 100%. Homo marriage, Obamacare, now this.. he’s compromised.
The libs in my family keep saying that they need to “take back” the Supreme Court, but I tell them that they already have it. Sure, SCOTUS will throw conservatives a bone once in a while (most often when it aligns with corporate interests), but on the big issues they go liberal.
