The simple fact that eggs have to be shipped in refrigerated trucks across half a continent to California has got to point out a real sustainability problem. Then again, where does LA get it's water from?

WE had a 20 cents price increase in eggs recently, and I noticed another small increase yesterday, but had not heard about this egg shortage...I’m east coast.

True! Unfortunately we have too many predators here so must keep them up.

If eggs are a staple in your familys diet and youd like to keep it that way, now would be a good time to get a few laying hens. Next month, beginning January 1, 2015, the chicken-and-egg production in the United States is in for a big shock. Thats when Californias new regulations on egg-laying hens goes into effect. And the effects of those regs on eggs will be felt nationally, even globally. The incredible, edible, prolate spheroid-shaped poultry product, which has long been one of the most affordable sources of high-quality protein, is certain to become significantly more expensive.Oh, please. There's nothing to stop egg producers from moving to or springing up in free states, even if Kalifornia has been a major producer in the past. It would be better for their businesses anyway, and plus, who wants to fund fascism with their corporate and personal income taxes anyway? And that organic fertilizer HSUS is selling won't sell here, though I wouldn't mind seeing them waste their money trying.

First it was corn. Then, anything having to do with corn. Chicken went up. Beef is ridiculous. Then pork went through the roof. Now eggs. Next, air and water?
But the US Government inflation rate is near zero because it doesn't include necessities like food, fuel and taxes.

Your user name reminds me of an old joke:
Roman walks into a bar and holds up two fingers; bartender brings him five beers.

Well it predators happen. I live in suburbia and wish I had some land to have some hens and goats and horses, etc. My egg hook-up lives maybe 12-15 miles but her neighborhood has huge 2-2.5 acre lots and they are allowed to have livestock, not a lot mind you.
I know she’s had to deal with snakes, hawks and possum, but no coyotes or bobcats. They have a very large enclosed area to “free range” so to speak.

Beef should be reserved for the elite. Folks who have to work for a living should be happy with soy protein and peanuts. Folks might get too uppity if they have access to the food served in Hollywood and Washington.

I got mine! A small flock gives us 6 eggs a day. If things get bad, I can take those eggs and place them in my incubator and have some chicks in three weeks. But then, lots of people cant do that. Sad. Ummmm..at least 1 of the flock has to be a rooster and not all eggs have been fertilized...in fact most haven't.

And there’s nothing nobel about the vegan movement either, as they’re tied at the hip with the Population Control agenda.
Stifling the food and energy supplies are simply other tools, along with death panels and restricted access to medical care.
No need to pay for treatment if the diagnostic tests aren’t allowed in the first place.

Uhh, no way! My health nut sister and law tried to trick us the other night by making what turned out to be some type of veggie burgers. She told us they were beef. No they we not! Terrible tasting. Threw them in the trash and had an all beef corn dog for dinner instead. So you lied to her and told her it was corn?
