MIAMI (WSVN) -- Local Cuban exiles in Little Havana Wednesday voiced their thoughts on President Barack Obama's announcement to re-establish relations with Cuba.
The commander in chief's abrupt use of U.S. executive authority came after the release of American Alan Gross, who had been held in Cuba for five years, in exchange for three Cubans jailed in Florida.
Wednesday afternoon, dozens gathered in front of Versailles restaurant off Southwest Eighth Street as soon as rumors of loosening restrictions surfaced. Cuban coffee was served with a side of political discourse as City of Miami Police officers were present to ensure decorum prevailed and reporters from around the world conducted interviews with the crowd.

It had to come to an end...sooner or later. But ten Presidents have been waiting on the magic words...’free and open elections’, and it just hasn’t been uttered.
In other words, a young skull full of mush.
I am surprised this report shows people disagreeing with Obamugabe. 95% of the Miami media reports on Obama treat the clown as the Messiah.
I don’t understand why Cuba isn’t the most southern Florida island. Are we such a messed up country that we just let the drug producers produce our foreign policy. They way I see it, just make it a successful destination. Americanize it until it exists as a foreign get- away. Wouldn’t have to buy it, own it or claim it. Just send a couple of McDonald’s, Starbucks (even though I don’t like Starbucks). Throw in some resort hotels and someplace for folks to buy a Mac. Problem solved.
There are some old dogs still around. I worked at Fairchild when the B26s for the Bay of Pigs effort were being overhauled. I met some really serious people, they will hate Fidel to the end of all time. They make good friends and dangerous enemies.
I think 0 just wants a 1942 Ford or two to sell. Saw some pictures taken by a Canadian Businessman, and lo and behold, there sat a 1956- 1957 Sunliner sitting on the street.
I think it is because Obama does not want to see Cuba turn right back again to Russia because the later has turned dangerous again.
Russia and Cuba initiated a security agreement earlier this year. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/dec/17/inside-the-ring-us-intel-concerns-about-russia-cub/ So, we’ll see what this means.
This is going to be great for the Oldest Profession in the World for Havana.
Well, that didn’t take long. Just tuned in to the same station....nothing but ADULATION for Obama.
Disgusting.

Cuban exiles who were lucky enough to gain entry to this Country circa 1959 would never buy a deal with the same bad Cuban regime. The ones I know/knew were good people, true friends.
Nbc Mark Potter in Havana. Cars need assistance too. At least pump up THEIR tires.
yep....younger Cubans are as trashy as the other obama followers. The dignified Cubans are outraged but sadly there too few of them now.
Got to remember that the younger folks are very much Americanized.
you are correct...
A few I used to be involved with helping relocate political prisoners from Cuba. Mostly in NC.
“Versailles restaurant off Southwest Eighth Street”
Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm! So good.
It is for the rest of the world and any Americans who wish to go there can go thru Canada.......
Lifting the embargo does absolutely nothing for their economy or their people. A year from now, nothing will have changed other than we have given legitimacy to a tin horn communist dictator......
Until the Nationalize it and throw the previous owners out or in jail. We did that once before to the tune of $75 billion.
I don't think they made any 1942 fords at least no civilian models. I remember when the 46 came out, maroon four door sedan $600.00.
